Does anybody know if nanotech has developed in in 2070? I'm still waiting for the nano-capsule equivalent of the Sanitize spell (G-Sanitize) and a nice quick and portable corpse disposal device (ID trashcan) and undetectable nanite recorders and cameras. (Source Gas)
So is SR any closer to viable nanite use?

Did you take a look at medkits, nano-trodes or nano-disguise?

Augmention and Arsenal are likely to feature more...

For portable Corpse disposal services, look in System Failure. Surtr comes pretty close to spontaneous destruction of all organic material.

See, Nanotech in SR isn't the sort of Repogramable, multi-use nanotechnology of much science fictions. It instead is tiney little robots capable of only a command or two and unable to be reprogrammed. So each nanomachine is only useful for a specific task, such as carving an engine casing out of a solid hunk of metal, or weaving that bone lacing into your street sam's body. so instead of being flashy, "Hey lets rearrange everything on the molecular level" pseudo-magic, its erally more like smart chemicals. You buy a batch of "eat away at anything not gold" nanomachines and use it to purify gold, while using a completely different batch of nanomachines to help your wounds close faster.
So what you'll be seeing a a variety of special equipment that use nanotech to do what they do, but no "Multi-use, whatever you want in a case" nanites, and no "Liquid metal" cyberarms or things like that.

My three examples are all specific use
Specific use, but not specific function (from a nanites pov).
Nanotech is a requirement for the massive miniaturization in all technological equipment that took place.

It's just plain dirty to quote someone without citing the name.
As for nanotech, the SR world makes massive usage of nanites, mainly in industrial applications. An example would be to use nanites to polish a bearing to almost-perfect roudness, reducing friction to almost nothing between pieces thus increasing the bearing's effectiveness.
As for uses that might interest a shadowrunner more personally, well, all cybersurgery uses nanites to install the cyberware, for tasks like interfacing the nerves to the 'ware. Actual nanite implants were available in the SR3 Man & Machine, so you can expect the same in the upcoming sourcebooks.

I tried in the first place, but it is too long that way, maybe you have a tip? iīll doctor with it a bit more, donīt know if it works thoug!
Or if you want, you can take this sig. It was actually mostly your gag in the first place. I just could not resist and could not keep all the quoting stuff either.. no offense

Edit: So, that looks better! Seriously I was still working on this one, I didnīt mean to pirate your hilarious comment.

Sorry, sorry. Not an attack, just a joke. I make it whenever anyone says someone is funny.

Really, though, I think a Deus cult would be kinda cool.

Fortunately, no. That sort of sci-fi schlock was sparse in SR3 and is mercifully less likely in SR4.
Most nanotech in SR4 is behind the scenes. All cyberware and bioware probably involve some degree of nanotech manufacturing. Advanced materials like monowire and body armors are probably examples of nanotech. But freely operating nanobots that eat bodies, sanitize crime scenes, and can reliably record useful quantities of sound and video? No. I hope not.

Not like you really need Nano-recorders. Rrcorders are small enough as it is. and ubiquitous. cybereyes and ears automatically come with recorders and unlimited storage. Really, the only saving grace is that with all this information being gathered, No one can Possible look through it as fast as it comes in.
Not even Lofwyr, though he tries.
Bleach is a nice, mundane version of the sanitize spell.
And thermite is a handy corpse disposal system.

Sounds a bit like these Gemini nanites from M & M, which controlled emotions, or rather IIRC stimmulated just one emotion, simmilar to trackloops. Be sure to see this stuff in Augmentation, allong with Nantidote, Oxigen nanites and the like.
