What happens when the Shadowrunner, Deckers, Data Havens, or the worm activates these fail safes and dumps that paydata on the slowly reemerging grids.

The Chaos, the back stabbing, gods the Newyen to be made could make the crash look like nothing compared to the aftershocks that would tear through the world.

to a point. it's important to note that, for the most part, nobody lost any data in the second crash. the Matrix connections were cut and fractured, but the systems connected to it were not, by and large, directly affected.
