Full Version: Bounty Hunter sample character

Now, maybe I am missing something. The bow the Bounty Hunter has is a rating 10. Because the Bounty Hunter has a Strength of 8, wouldn't this cause a -4 dice pool penalty? (-2 per point of STR under rating)
Glyph
That does seem like a dumb choice for the character. All that I can think of, is that maybe they confused the damage code of (STR Min +2)P with the Strength Minimum, and they really meant a Rating 8 bow, which would do 10P damage. Another one for the erratta, I guess...
Chandon
Or perhaps they really meant to give him an over-strength bow. Losing 4 dice for +2 damage is an excellent deal if you have enough dice.

With Agility 3 and Archery 2, the bow would leave him with 1 die to make his attack test with, unless he goes and smartlinks it. A very, very poor idea.
Kyojima
Man... I feel glad I noticed it. Would make more sense just to downgrade the bow to rating 8, I would think, rather than smartlinking it.
Chandon
I keep forgetting that the archetype characters are generally incompetent. For someone actually skilled with a bow, going for a high strength min can be a good plan (a plan that makes bows pretty damn deadly).

Now that I am actively looking and comparing to the errata, check out the Covert Ops Specialist. She has a nice, shiny, silenced Ingram Smartgun X, with 10 clips of ammo... And no Automatics skill.

A handful of the samples have issues like that. I think it may have been a problem with a carry over between playtest versions. The characters got tweaked, but related gear or whatever didn't get tweaked to reflect the change.

IIRC, there's a couple non-existant weapons and skills in there too.

Just give her a 10 point flaw, and buy Automatics (Submachine guns) 2(4).
Kyojima
Meh. Stuff happens. At any rate, if any of the modly types would be so kind as to split specific posts to the relevent Errata thread, it would be much appreciated. Might as well get them officially noted so they can be added to the next errata.

Yeah. No big deal.
