Does anyone know what the drone flying around this guy is?
Its about as big as a dwarf's head, which says small or mini sized, but its clearly not the FlySpy (the size fo a large insect?) or the Optic-X (a VSTOL with wings?)... does anyone have any ideas? or is it just a cool picture for a drone that they didn't bother ot make stats for (like the anthroform picture in one fo the other sections)?

I keep seeing flying ball-shaped drones in the book, and I wish they had captions. smile.gif

Yes can have wings. http://www.vstol.org/

I'd guess the Optic-X, since it is the only airborne drone of about that size. But for that it would have to be able to pitch 90 degrees and hover like that. More likely the picture was drawn before that section of the book was completed. So the artist just drew something they thought was cool.

Personally I think that picture could have been early concept art for Brokeback Mountian before the story was changed to set it in the 1960's. eek.gif

Lol, I knew that VSTOL can have wings... I just meant that the drone doesn't seem to be an Optic-X because of its lack of wings... but now that I reread it, I wrote it poorly.

Ok. That makes more sense. I should have been able to read it that way to start with.

I was thinking that maybe the wings are half moon with the curve at the back. The wings, one wing really, would then crack apart at the rear and the two halves would pivot at the front center with one sliding over the other.
