Crossfire
Happy Wednesday everyone!

I would like to know what kind of character(s) you are playing these days...

It would be interesting to include information such as: real name, street name, concept, background, current situation, why the character is memorable, why do you like the character, or anything special about the character worth mentioning!

Thanks for helping a bored government clerk wink.gif

Peace!

im am more then willing to help out a fellow bored person.

right now i am playing my adept
Christof Von Praugh or known on the streets as "Kain" kain is a night one dark blackish purple body and silver hair and eyes. he is an adept like i said, and puts all his focus on quickness. he has a insainly high quickness stat. maxed out i believe. he is a level 6 initiate with centering. like i said all his stuff is in anything with quickness so he has wall running, gliding, multiple levels of sidestep, boosted reflexes, obviusly increased quickness. he also has commanding voice( comes in quite handy) he also has a familar. a raven named "poe".He is on the bored of directers of a mega corp are gunsmith and us all started....Markerlight ind. " because at Markerlight..we care" he also ownes every paper book in the seattle area, quite a colecter of fiction wich started it all anyway. he usually weres a black tophat with the ace of dimands in stuck in the rim,and a black coat with tails. his favorite weapons to use are monowhips. he always has them on hand in modified gun arm slides. he detests guns, he believes them to be messy and loud. nothing like the clean sound of a monowire goin through somebody. im sure if u look up now u can see him standing on the corner of a roof on a faroff building. just standing, watching the throngs of people mill about below, with a raven circling high above him.

Currently, I'm playing an Elven Sniper in a forum game, trained by the Tir Tairngire Ghosts who is out in the world until they need him again.

His full name is Ian'Baeltherrail Selahasar, though he requests that you merely call him Ian. While he can handle himself in a close-up firefight in a pinch, he excels at sniping and long-range fighting.

So far he's been an interesting character to play, but there's been nothing but close fighting, so he hasn't shined yet.

He's got flashbacks, and the way the GM is, he's probably an Immortal Elf that's forgotten everything.
Kyoto Kid
...Currently I'm running an Adept - Kyoto Kid 4.1. She is a former subject of the TT who was abandoned at by her Elven parents age 12 because she was human (long story). She has a fascination with the old American West and likes to use 2 Super Warhawks (Ambidexterity)

She is also an expert with blades (Particularly the Katana which is her weapon focus).

James McMurray
Last week I played a Crab Clan Bushi aiming to be a Hida Avenger. This coming up week I'll be playing a Pixie-Fairy Cleric of Arnuya, Gawd of Vengeance. smile.gif

When next we play SR I'll be playing my Rigger / Street Sam again.

Hey KK, I see you give a lot of version numbers for your character. Is that changes through editions or new incarnations? I'm just curious as to whether you're the type that picks a character they like and plays it in every game or if the game has been going on for a long time.

Just to be clear: this is curiosity, not judgement. If someone wants to play the same character in every game and they enjoy it without spoilling everyone else's fun then more power to them.
Sahandrian
Let's see...

Live:
Rookwood (yeah, it's a Vendetta reference - he was originally based on V, but quickly developed away from that), a path of the magician adept. His spells are more for support purposes. Much more goes into his melee skills. I made this character in about 20 minutes before a game, so he didn't really have a true name (though he's given the name "Maxwell Edison" before when asked, but that's obviously fake) or a real background. What I worked out afterwards is that he was being initiated into a group of blood mages, but during the rituals involved, he had a vision of the horrors (or rather, Horrors) that would result from this sort of magic. He then attacked the one leading the ritual and fled. Soon after, runners trying to claim the DIMR bounty on blood mages attacked the group and effectively destroyed it. The ones who escaped believe Rookwood lead the runners there, and are searching for him for revenge. Rookwood himself decided to do anything he could to prevent his vision from becoming reality. However, since he has no actual Divination ability, his choices of targets (the responsible parties) are somewhat misguided, and have been fairly random so far. Currently he's trying to summon an ally spirit to aid him in his cause.

He's mostly memorable for his sociopathic behavior, like convincing the snake shaman to let himself be stabbed. And coming very close to using blood magic himself.

Then again, he's also memorable for being very good at ruining GM plans. Like on a run to find a serial killer, he was attacked from behind by the guy, who was using poisons that should have disabled him the remainder of the run. But he beat the killer on a counterattack, and had killed him within two passes. Thus ending the job a several hours early.

And now, I need to go help my sister with somethign at her house, so I'll post my characters from online games when I get back...

I'm playing a hacker named Rat Fink, who happens to be my great grandson. His whole deal is he just graduated with his history degree when he stumbled on a conspiracy theory that spans all of human existence. He kept digging deeper and his parents ended up dead so he went underground and is trying to find out the truth about the people with the real power while running the shadows. The best part is I, as the player, have absolutely no idea if the conspiracy is all in R.F.'s head or not. He seems like he is going to be a fun character, we have only had one game session, as he is also a huge fan of the Kustom Kar Kulture of this time period. It all seems a little weird but it all works together.
mfb
it's a bit out of date, but most of the relevant in-character data on Italy, my main guy, has been collected in a handy datafile. my other main character is an adept who gained her powers after nearly becoming the victim of a horrible serial killer, and who's kinda starting to act like one herself.
Kalvan
Right now, my group's running five characters based right on the architypes in the SR4 BBB:

Dorothy: The Ork Gunslinger Adept

Tin Man: The Sammy

Scarecrow: The Human Mage (Made him an African-American Hougan of Ghede)

Cowardly Leon: The Troll Rat Shaman

The Wizz: Ork Comlinker (Hacker is just too darn generic)

Toto: The Team's old Rover-Jeep Adventure

The Group's Name: The Mad Baumers! biggrin.gif
Sahandrian
There, that's done with. Now...

Online game characters:

Sahandrian
Elf face/decker, true name Kirkis Blair. Semi-retired now. Sahandrian is from England, and camer to Seattle to run the shadows for a while after his college roommate and best friend, Poe (real name: Edgar Allen), came up with the idea. They left the country after their junior year, and abandoned their identities. They had intended to stay only a few months, then return, but they could never manage to get enough money together for the return trip. Eventually, they gave up and stayed there. Poe (pre-med major) became a street doc, and San (psych major) started gettign a team together. With the help of Donika, a fixer with mafia conenctions, he met Dasari (no street name, AmerInd elf decker), Fireball (Asli Malden, german ork merc), and Dariam (real name forgotten thanks to Amnesia flaw, human moon shaman). They team worked together for about a year, but then a botched run resulted in Fireball losing an arm and an eye, as well as scars across much of his body, and Dasari being paralyzed from the waist down (shrapnel from an explosion hit her back and destroyed a portion of her spine, too much for cyber to repair). He dropped from running for a few months while helping Dasari (who he thought of as a sister) recover, and learned much about computers and decking from her. At her encouragement, he returned to working the shadows, and asked Dasari to see if she could dig up some people to work with for him.

She found Epoc's team, unfortunately. This included Epoc, an elf street sam; Ceres, a night elf shaman (posts here sometimes); Dot, a human decker; Crystal, a human mage; and Osiris, a troll street sam. San worked with this group at times, but he and Ceres also ran with a second group consisting of Bailong Yue (chinese elf assassin, same player as Ceres), Shinji Kinomoto (japanese elf adept), Phaeton (human rigger, used to post here), and Foreigner (human assassin, posts here). He and Ceres gradually left the first group behind, as their immaturity, unstable behavior, and infighting made them uncomfortable to work with at best. But over time, even the latter group had it's problems. Phaeton left eventually, after constant arguments with Shinji, and then Shinji himself quit due to ongoing fights with everyone else. However, Sahandrian and Yue became very good friends, and Ceres remained friendly with both.

But then Sahandrian wound up being turned into a woman after a bizarre incident with a free spirit. And then, after a drunken night with Yue, wound up pregnant (with twin girls, it was later discovered). Yue moved in with San after finally admitting that they were attracted to each other, and both went into a fairly peaceful semi-retirement for a time, able to live off of what they had made on some of their last runs. At least, it was peaceful until Sahandrian's aunt found out where she was and showed up... And right now, she's dealing with that...

First paragraph was backstory, second was game events, and third is current situation. Fireball, Dasari, and Dariam remain San's NPC contacts. Epoc's team was my live game in high school. The Shinji/Phaeton/Foreigner team is our online game, played on AIM, IRC, and our forums. As to her aunt, I wrote out a bit on her family once. She has four aunts, and her mother was the only human out of the sisters. The one who found her was the youngest, Mary (all five girls were named after former queens: Mary, Elizabeth, Victoria (mom), Jane, and Anne), who's actually only about 10 years older than San.

And now my mother wants help with something, so the other two get put on hold again.

Cool characters!

I've had writers (character?) block for awhile now, and this is all I've been able to come up with for some time.

The current runner is an ex-construction foreman named Loader. He worked his way up the Renraku ranks from a laborer to a carpenter then to a foreman at the Seattle arcology after Renraku reclaimed it. He was going to be there till it was complete to collect a fat bonus for getting his part of the job done slightly ahead of schedule. Then things took a different turn. His good work got him picked to be on a special construction team. This team was to build some sort of specially designed sections that had quite a bit of odd requirements to them. A guy named Bennie on the team figured out these were going to be used as some sort of bio-lab. Everyone on the team thought Bennie was nuts, so he went on and on trying to prove that the stuff they were building was a secret lab. Bennie was transferred to Denver, or so they said, and never heard from again. When the sections were done, the boss said the company wanted to do something special for the team for doing such a great job. They used one of the lower level rooms at the arcology to host a party with strippers and lots of booze. Loader had just gotten a little work done on his cybereyes, and was under strict orders to not drink for a day. He was pretty bummed out that he couldn’t get hammered with his buddies, but it soon became a giant benefit. An armed squad came in and started shooting people. Loader was lucky enough to be in another room when the shooting started, and he escaped by surprising one of the hit squad members, and working his way down and out of the arcology.

Not really knowing anything about the streets, he got mixed up in a bad smuggling deal that left him stranded in Denver. He’s been running the shadows there, trying to keep food on his plate ever since.

Hm... Well, the main game is Armageddon, the Climax of my post-Crash campaign, There's Nothing Free (In This World), which follows several PCs as they make sense of events after the Crash 2.0 and the NR coup and deal with the effects some events have on them directly. By this point it involves a second attempt to take over the Renraku Arcology (SCIRE) by the Banded that feel though after the Crash 2.0. However, that isn't to say that they have given up trying to take down as many people with them as possible- and by as many people as possible, I mean completely decapitating and incapacitating any semblance of governance and Plex-wide administration of Seattle following the Crash and NR coup (which took out pretty much the entire upper echelon of civilian leaders in Seattle and most of the soldiers who wouldn't so gleefully enjoy their role under the AMGOT [American Military Government of the Occupied Territories, which really existed during WW2] military governor's martial rule). To this end, it has come to incoporate every major PC on Shadowland in a battle to the death with the Banded. As the GM, I get to run about 99% of the characters involved in the campaign. Some of the key NPCs are:
  • Colonel Samantha Madison - Military Intelligence commander. Ms. Johnson for intelligence/counterintelligence operations related to the UCAS military and intelligence community within the Pacific Northwest. Was involved in operations related to the covert war on Ex Pacis and Winternight as well as the New Revolution and god-knows how many other terrorist and insurgent groups, but has been suspected of being involved with the NR to the point of being accused of treason. However, she is currently the highest-ranking, non-Banded officer inside the SCIRE and the highest-ranking Army officer in Seattle, and is leading a counteroffensive against the Banded since the whole building is isolated from the world due to various circumstances. However, some of the "free" forces have been hesitant to follow her due to the accusations of her being a traitor to the UCAS.
  • Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Miller - A senior commander within JSOC, after fighting in the counteroffensive inside DeeCee for a week he was ordered to lead a team of eight Delta operators to retrieve Colonel Madison and repatriate her to Washington, DC to be interrogated and processed regarding her involvement with the NR. When the takeover occurred, half of his team was slaughtered by a pack of next-generation Medusae (faster and more stealth at the cost of their totally uber killing abilities. Called Cheetahs because of their resemblance.) before the survivors dragged another survivor out as someone managed to snatch the Colonel from their control during the melee. Currently sitting in a LAV to lead the airborne assault on the upper floors of the SCIRE.
  • Sergeant Sean McGuinness - Tir Republican Corps assassin. His relationship with Colonel Madison is complex to put it mildly. He went rogue, and infiltrated the SCIRE to extract her from the Army's custody, and was the one who pulled her out during the Cheetah attack, and thereby saving her life. Eventually they rejoined Lt. Col. Miller's forces when they realized what was happening inside the SCIRE. He is currently sitting in a LAV with three covert operatives (mfb's character, Italy, an ex-Tir Ghost, and someone who may or may not still be a Tir Ghost when this is over). They are the spearhead team whose sole objective is to find and assassinate Tadashi Marushige.
  • "Alyssa" - A powerful (Force 6, Spirit Energy 4) free Mantis Spirit who has been obliged to follow Colonel Madison. She was created when a shaman took control of her Mother spirit and managed to produce three offspring (of which Alyssa is the most powerful) before the Colonel found the shaman and murdered her at the behest of the Empowerment Coalition and certain, ah... relationships that the Colonel has with the EC and the Desolation Angels (given the ugly people and things she has dealt with in a grey world for twenty years, it's easy to see how she could be accused of treason). The Mother and offspring swore a pledge of loyalty to her as a result, and the Mantis is currently serving as a bodyguard for the Colonel.
  • Tadashi Marushige - If you've played Brainscan, or read it, or have just heard or seen comments about it, you've probably been exposed to some of the information about Tadashi. He was the head of SCIRE security before the Shutdown, and the head Blue afterwards. He survived the events in Brainscan, and has been secretly working to further the plot. Were it not for the death of Deus (well... "death.") the chaos and NR coup would have made the plans even more insidious as Deus would have attempted to co-opt control of everyone in a position of power in Seattle (as the Emergency Operations Center was in the SCIRE as it is the one building that could never be destroyed by conventional means) to allow a freed Deus to consolidate control over a part of the physical world and become unkillable with his own kingdom at hand. Tadashi has seen the takeover falter and the ultimate goal fail under his own watch, and now as a Ronin, he has decided to take down everything around him as he waits for the assassin team (Italy and the Ghost, Connor, have a history with Tadashi on SL) as his Banded prepare to wage a battle to the death. However, he's not going lightly as he has been modified from his stats in Brainscan to include a tactical computer and two bodyguards - a CZ with two articulate arms who can pull off an imitation of General Grievous or just fill hallways with 60 rounds of HV-LMG ammo every 3 seconds, and a Grade 5, Potency 3 Toxic Sterility Shaman. The best part is that the Shaman also Quickened an Armor spell on the CZ to stop most attacks from even reaching its own armor.
Unfortunately, the campaign stalled because something RL came up that's distracted me from gaming. But when it returns, it should be fun.

The other campaigns include Payback's A Bitch, which is the sequel to a campaign called That Extraction Run where the runners had to extract five seemingly unrelated people who all secretly had been UCAS black operatives involved in a mission which may or may not have involved treason and the murder of a very high-ranking UCAS politician back in the early 2050s. At the end of the campaign (or where it ended), as they were about to grab the fourth target a group of gunmen burst in and nearly killed the runners, the target, and did happen to kill a half-dozen mid- to high-level Yaks with whom she was meeting if not for the fact that the team mage's magic spared him, and as a result he was able to (with some good dice rolls and karma) heal them (my runner had D+2 down to S+3, another had D down to M, and the target had D+2 down to S+3) and get them to a street doc who had worked on another team member who got fried by a hellacious Manabolt cast by the immediately prior target (IIRC, I rolled like 15 dice for the casting and rolled really damn well). Meanwhile, the three previous extractees disappeared from where they were being stored unconsciously, but Ms. J refused to say whether she took them, or knew of who did, and left to take care of Target #5. Payback's A Bitch starts out six weeks later when my PC (who now sounds a bit like Harvey Firestein because he was shot, among other places, in the throat) organizes a retribution mission for whoever was gunning after them (the attack was well-focused on them and the Yaks, and not a matter of them getting caught in the crossfire) and planning to execute some business by first of all hitting the couple who owns the small PMC that sent the gunmen to find out who hired them.

Sadly, it too has stalled just as the initial meet wrapped up. One of the damn PCs is a fucking curse on every game he's ever tried to play. Anyway, my PC is a former Secret Service agent who started to do counterintelligence and retribution work following the assassinations of Gen. Yeats and Pres. Dunkelzahn before he went to do field work (i.e., killin') for Knight Errant for a bit and then went freelance after a stint in the Bay Area picking off targets in Saito's regime.

The third campaign is The Land of Promise. I'm GMing, but the Johnson in this case has a background as a former CIA clandestine service officer (aka, a spy) whose first mission was compromised from the start because DCI Sessions' III own private little war against the PCC and Sioux came to light, and he ended up having to flee across Pueblo into Ute. When he was created, Aegis Cognito and SIS didn't exist (and I didn't want to use KE again because other PCs had KE in their backgrounds), but he worked for a small boutique firm that does exactly what they do only focused exclusively on the NAN. But this mission (as you may guess from the title) involves sending the PC into the Tir for a black op.
Adam Selene
I don't play as a PC, I just GM, but I just randomly make up characters and give them backstories for practice.

I made this one up after posting in this thread

Twitch - Troll Sprawl Ganger

Getting boosted reflexes was the worst thing this guy ever did, and he's been hating himself for it ever since. Sure, it allowed him to crush Humanis gangers like bugs and dodge bullets like a ballerina but whenever he's not out clobbering heads he's swallowing, injecting, and generally ingesting every single downer known to man and available in the Redmond Barrens. Pharmacists have a tab with this guy, it's that bad. He can barely sleep at night. Whenever it gets real awful his body looks like it's been in the hospital from all the tranq patches he's got slapped all over his skin. His liver's probably halfway shot to hell with all the liquor he's guzzled just to make him so buzzed that he's no longer spazzing out.

He'll take any run he can find, and mainly tries to suck up (miserably) to corporate contacts and johnsons. Why? His goal is simple: He's heard Cellular Repair genetech can reverse the effects of boosted reflexes. Every ¥ he makes gets placed straight into a special certified credstick he keeps in a safety deposit box with somebody he knows he can trust. It's hard going though since he only keeps about 1/2 to 1/4th of his payment. The rest go to more downers.

...oh yeah, and he's got an Ingram Valiant LMG, too, but that's really not the point.
Darkwater
Currently I play Killian Darkwater, known simply as Killian to his friends. He is a mundane gunman with a grudge against the Bigio family and enough experience with his pistol to back it up. He's 25 years old and used to own a club in downtown known as Darkwater's. He's quick to the fist and quicker to the trigger, smiling easily as he shoots u in the head from 30 yards.
Neverborn
Lets See here,

Currently i play my Elven Magician named Janus Xavithar. Growing up in the various low income housing and overall just shady place's in diffrent majour cities around North America him and his twin sister Aria [this is before the novel aftershock so while the idea isnt completely original i didnt steal it from the book] would have never guess that their parents used to be high magicians of the Way of the Wheel. Also little did he know they were wanted by both Tir Goverments for reasons the two are still to this day unaware of. All they know is one day they came home from public school one day to find their parents murdered on the living room with the house torn to shreds.

Janus has always been in tune with the Mana of the planet, him and his sister both were recognized as having the Talent for Magic at the early age's of Eight. Ever since then untill the parents death they were taught the ways of Elven magic.

Janus him self is somewhat of a Gallant his Handsome looks exotic even among other elves make him stand out for better or worse. he is a loyal friend to the people that have been there for him during the years on the streets and is unquestingly loyal to his sister. Also something the two arent aware of is that their magical prowess can never go unnoticed [Astral Beacon Flaw]

Well anyway thats for the most part the character i play hope its not to rediculous
Dawnshadow
Currently playing 4 characters at various parts of an "Oh God" powerful campaign.

Damian (Devin Blake), a metalhead who's been involved in some freaky magical rituals, but started out as your ex-military killing machine, and has upgraded to demonic killing machine with a purpose that could result in life on Earth NOT being wiped out. Memorable because he's probably the toughest metahuman in our game. He started out troll-tough and got tougher. I like the character, because, well, shoot him in the face with a sniper rifle and 50 successes... and he'll fight until he goes down completely.

Kincade (Ryan Simmonds), a magician's way adept who's managed to discover that, unlike most people, he really IS of vital importance to the world.. turns out that he wasn't some random creation of existance, but crafted and sculpted by 3 metaplanes for the purpose of opposing the Horoi.. memorable because hey, he's a swordsman with blades that came out of the metaplanes, ambidextrous, ungodly fast, and just fun. Even if some NPCs think he's boinking his ally spirit. (Yes, Sharaloth, that's a jab at Syren.)

Catriana (Catriana O'Roarke, Catriana Hennessy), a very young IE (25 or so) shaman of the wild hunt that's gotten apprentenced to Harlequin and spent most of her Karma on that. But she knows how to summon the Wild Hunt, and is the only PC magician who can work magic against the Horoi (gotta love thread magic). Memorable because she's a tall redheaded elf that's been mindraped by some of the badguys.. (quickened control actions)

Selene (Kinley McGregor -- maybe.) Amnesiac Moon Maiden conjurer, Wiccan, with a pair of ally spirits and an unknown value flaw "Attracts spirits", with a completely unknown matching edge. Changeling, dual natured, and has been known to be crowded so closely with spirits that she can't see. At all. She's also survived being shot in the face by one of the nastier characters we've been fighting, and is about to have dragons start wooing her to join their causes (presumably because of that "Attracts spirits" flaw/edge pair)
SL James
And here I thought my campaigns were batshit insane.
Hypatia
I play a dragonslayer shaman. She's young (she's 16 altho no one on the team realizes she is that young), she's fun, loves to dance and party. Running earns her the creds she needs for threads, magical items, music and clubbing. Hype loves to talk and explore new things. Most bad guys underestimate her, which is just fine by her. Hype always has a fire spirit ready for whenever trouble breaks out. Her main defining characteristic is her charisma, which is a 7. Also explains why her outfits never seem to remain intact on a run. She isn't out to save the world, or even Seattle, but Hype will have you glad she is on your team.

Jace -- Tir Border Patrol Adept turned Shadowrunner. One of those (canon) double-wielded missile launchers from Torgo The Troll's bitch took off Jace's arm as part of his background story (yes, they have a gang regularly ambush the border patrols of one of the most paranoid military powers in the world). Jace got saddled with a cyberarm, got real grouchy over the loss of mojo, and decided to go to Seattle, work as a Shadowrunner, build his fortune, and then kill every last one of those trog motherfuckers. To date, he has not successfully completed a single Shadowrun. He's the "cursed guy" James mentioned, above. Every game he's ever been in -- through no fault of his own -- has had players lose internet access, GMs move, people go on vacation and not come back, or in one case been bogged down during the month-long posting sessions where all the noobs demanded we go over the plan "one more time." He's a natural born killer, though, our Jace, with a Stealth of 12 and a healthy Rifles skill. Maybe someday he'll get to, y'know, finish a job and get full karma for it. As is, getting 2 and 3 karma each time (for good roleplay, and the danger bonus for a single skirmish or two for each 'run), he's at over forty karma. He's been on a lot of aborted jobs, leading me to actually sucking it up and giving him the "Bad Reputation" flaw in a recent sheet update. The poor, bitter, asshole.

Connor -- My go-to guy (elf?). Ex Ghost, assassin for the Information Secretariat, loving daddy to a metaracist supremacist darling little girl (who just loves his human girlfriend, honest), and general "company man" for Tir Tairngire. He was the elven trigger-man in my "Life on Campus" short fiction some of you may have read, he was the undercover operative in the fiction where Ghosts wiped out (via multiple fireballs) a Rinelle cell, etc. He's my most popular, most powerful, character (though not, ironically, my longest standing). He and Italy have done some truly improbable jobs together, including the time they woke up, handcuffed, missing all their gear, halfway across the country (and proceeding to kick and headbutt to death six Trollish gangers, as the first step to learning where they were, and getting home).

Tyler Wilde -- Orkish Adept (Mobility oriented). Metahuman People's Army terrorist turned convict, convict turned Knight Errant parolee, Knight Errant parolee turned shadowrunner, shadowrunner turned short fiction superstar! Every job he's been on so far, I've started with his parole officer fucking him (literally) and then fucking him (figuratively) the next morning, by giving him a job he's got to do for Ares, to avoid the parolee ankle-bracelet tracking device, getting into trouble for not finding an honest job yet, etc, etc. Good, clean, fun so far.

And, well, yeah. I've got about a dozen others, easily, that I'm cycling through at any given time. These are my big 'uns right now.
Wounded Ronin
I'm not playing any. ;;

Currently I'm running Ice Queen in one of the forum games.

Ice Queen (Caitlin Snow):
Caitlin joined DocWagon in the fervor of youthful idealism. She thought that using her magical gifts to heal people would be the greatest use of her abilities. She found out that being accepted onto a DocWagon HTR team involved danger and volatile situations, but she adapted, becoming tougher and smarter, and learning new skills. Rising to these challenges only reinforced her belief that she had made the right choice in life.

But over time, reality set in. She became worn down by the unrelenting pressure, and her idealism wilted in the face of reality. She watched her team gun down street kids to get to a slimy BTL pusher, who wouldn't get the long overdue street justice that he had coming to him. She watched teammates fall apart under the stress, only to get callously scapegoated and ruthlessly discarded. She watched her team walk past people bleeding in the gutter to get to a whiny Yak suit with a bullet-grazed arm. In the end, she couldn't watch any longer. She left.

It cost her. She had almost nothing left by the time she faded into the shadows, but she is determined to bounce back. She is less naive now, but has not totally succumbed to cynicism, either. She has a harder edge than most magical healers. She is used to paramilitary operations and stressful negotiations, and is a skilled paramedic in addition to her magical skills.
Ghostly Enigma
Please note I know this one not only breaks probley 90% of the usal rules but I have a rather cool GM so here it goes......Oh and ya LONG ASS back story as well.

Ah screw it lol Senapsis two teenages made a Flesh bound spiret then died from the insane drain. Shes been running amunk for the last 50+ years mostly with a small smuggling group then with a Cat shaman named Anibell as a body guard and Laky for feching thaings that Anibell wants. Her name is Shadow Cat and shes 7 feet of fuzzy dual fine blade wealding fun that can crawl up walls and along ceilings and moves like a cat on crack with the quickend spells that are on her. Rembale point at this time the fact she cut out the heart and liver and a arm or two off one of the gangers that attackt the group shes with right now and ate them as she was rather hungry at that time. smokin.gif

You may notice I've been posting under this handle for well over a year, but I have only just recently had the chance to start playing him. The result of which is far too much backstory to list here, but I'll summarize:

His father was a wageslave for Fuchi until he died during a manastorm induced goblinization (troll). The company screwed Michael and his mother out of any death benefits and evicted them from corp family housing. Thereafter Mom (in her depression) turned into BTL addiction, then to prostitution, and then to drugging and prostituting her son. After some years of this abuse (and several runaway attempts) he arranged for her demise. He spends some time as a ward of the state in an orphanage convincing himself that the past happened to somebody else and that he is an entirely different person now, and is eventually diagnosed with a type of Dissociative Identity Disorder. The different expressions of his personality dress, speak, and act differently, but elements of his core consciousness seem to pervade each. He compounds this effect by taking to the theater and learning acting and makeup (disguise). He runs away from the orphanage and survives for a while on the streets running small cons, then decides that the real money is in the long con, and for that he needed technical expertise. He learns Computer, Electronics B/R, finds an ex-shadowrunner mentor (The Bishop for any Harrison fans), gets some cyber/bioware, and now runs the shadows as a Face/Infiltrator/Decker/Tech wiz with flashbacks triggered by anything involving a. his mother, b. his real identity, or c. sexual predators/abuse. He is also compelled to (on occasion) seek out a sexual predator and exact upon him(or her) a reckoning.

We're playing in late 2058, and if my current GM is good to me he will let me play some part in Fuchi's downfall.
Wounded Ronin
I used to like to play a lot of mundanes without cyber to maximize my challenge while playing. Once I made Snake and Raiden in two seperate campaigns and had a lot of fun with them. Nothing is funnier than seriously pissing everyone off by injecting too many Raiden grunts into your character dialogue.
Findar
I play in a very high powered campaign. My GM has lots of house rules that make mages very fun to play. My current character is full magician Level 7 initiate. He is a member of the Order of St. Slyvester. His totem is the Archangel Michael. His street name is Disciple. He is currently shadow running in Seattle with some elves trying to get enough rep to go to work for Big D and collect intellegence on Bid D for his order. Disciple is the product of a Atzlan genetic engineering/breeding program which aimed at breeding/engineering magical super soldiers. The program mixed in some metahuman genes to try and get a super human. The program also implanted a cortex bomb in each baby shortly after birth for control purposes. Unfortunately for the program the cortex bomb inhibited the subjects development of magical abilities. Disciple was being trained in infiltration techniques and escaped from the program in his early teens when his facility was attacked by Azzie rebels. Disciple exchanged clothes with a dead rebel and escaped the compound. A Catholic priest took Disciple in and taught him about God, etc. Disciple felt a call to the priesthood several years later and experienced a miracle during his ordination. When the Archbishop laid hands on Disciple during his ordination Disciple was "healed" of his cortex bomb and he goblinized in to an orc. His latent magical talent also became active. Disciple's primary skills are Sorcery, Conjuring, Enchanting, Stealth, Sniper Rifles, Whips(Monowhips), Unarmed(Fists), Etiquette and Negociations(Fast Talk). He and his team are currently preparing to take on a very powerful toxic free spirit.

The_Preacher
Boomer- A former black ops weapon specialist. Last job might have been a set up lost my entire team and almost my life getting out of the area. Turned to the shadows to make quick money and find out what happened to the black ops team. Orc with a missing tusk has made it through some pretty crazy runs comingout with minor to no wounds at all. Master with the shotgun and pistol. Also has a bit of a nak for taking out runners

The reason I like this runner so muchis tha runs he has been on and the luck he has had in some situations. Also he has completed every run he has undertaken.
