For anyone that might know, it just doesn't have to be Serbitar himself, I have some question on his house rules.
The first one is under the Combat Section.
Beginning at 7.1 Damage
"If the modified damage value does not exceed
the modified armour rating, the defender can
add his full unmodified impact rating to the
damage resistance (optional)"
In other words, anytime the defender would take stun damage, he adds his full unmodified impact rating to the damage resistance?
"Example: Jason Troll gets shot by
something that does 8P/-1AP with 1 net
hit. Jason happens to have armour of
10 ballistic and 8 impact, so that the
modified DV of 9(8+1) is equal to his
modified armour of 9(10-1) and he takes
stun damage. He can now use 18 dice
(10+8 ) plus his body for the resistance
test. Jason yells Bring it on baby, and
shoots back."
I don't understand why the Ballistc armor is being added here. Shouldn't it just be the impact rating of the armor (i.e. 8 ) + body to resist the stun damage? Did he mean the full unmodified ballistic rating to the damage resistance?
"Note: This rule also applies to damage that is
already stun damage."
So this means anytime the defender takes stun damage, even through spells, this rule applies?
NEXT QUESTION SECTION
Well this is more or less to clear something up. If I hit someone with flechette under the the house rules and they have a impact armor rating of 6. Does that actually mean they get 12 to their dice pool for resisting it? Also, in the ammocheck.xls it seems Flechette damage is only capable of doing stun damage. When fleschette can actually do physical damage when it bypasses the ballistic armor. I put ballistic armor at 0 and impact at 10; I was doing 0 damage. It also wasn't being read as penatrating. If I am correct +Impact is always used, even in ballistic armor checks. For instance:
JoeBob gets shot by flechette for 10P/+Impact. Joebob has an 0B/10I for his armor. A test first needs to be made to see if the flechette penetrates the ballistic armor. JoeBob not only gets his ballistic armor for this, but his impact as well. So his dicepool will be 10+10+body. This doesn't make any sense because impact rating should only be considered for stun damage. Could someone please explain this, or maybe only Serbitar himself knows? Why is his impact armor being added up twice for a ballistic test that will obviously fail?

I have some questions:
Why, precisely, did you start this new thread? Why didn't you simply post your questions on Serbitar's thread?

Why did you even think it necessary to ask that question when the answer is obvious?
It stands to reason that I would have posted this in the Serbitar thread if I knew it's location. Secondly, it isn't entirely necessary to post it in the Serbitar thread. As I found the thread upon you mentioning it and it looks to be more of a thread for Serbitar to give updates rather than accept community questions. It also seems these forums have a time allowance for editing. I am assumming this because Serbitar created new posts to say he had updated the rules, it is also entirely possible this was a shameless bump if no time constraint on editing exist. I am unsure how editing is handled here.
If this holds true, this would mean an extended community discussion would ruin the readability and continuity of the topic in regards to updates.
And one more thing. I hope other people here treat new forum members with a greater sense of civility than you just treated me. I don't think snide sardonic remarks are the best way to greet a newcomer.

I don;t know if it's neccesaryto spare that thread any clutter. Serbitar updates his signature everytime he updates his supplements. For those who care, they notice. But that's my opinion. You'll have to ask Serbitar if he cares

It wasn't, actually.

Touche, I hadn't thought of that.

I'm very sorry if I offended you. But again, I genuinely didn't understand. As an Aspie (a person with
Asperger's Syndrome) I sometimes have trouble understanding just why people do what they do. I also tend do or say things that other people consider inappropriate or offensive, because I don't realize that what I'm doing or saying is inappropriate - again, because I'm an Aspie. I'm trying to work on my social skills, and I think I've made a lot of progress, but there are still times when I slip up, and unfortunately this is one of those times. Once more, I'm very sorry for upsetting you.

I think I was just able to figure out where I was going wrong. It looks like I was misunderstanding the rules for fleschette.
In normal shadowrun rules the player under the first scenario would only get his Ballistic+Body to resist the stun damage. The House Rule changes this so that the player gets Ballistic+Impact+Body to resist stun damage. This rule only applies when armor is used to resist the attack.
To answer the flechette question is that flechette rounds can only be defened with by the impact rating on the armor. That is why there is an I in and not a B in the tables of the book(DOH!). Hence why ballistic armor would have no bearing on whether or not it pierces.
I think I had a complete mental shutdown or something. I coudln't for the life of me figure that out. I think what I said is correct and I have a correct understanding of the rules now. If not, please point me into the right direction.

heh, they thought i had that when i was growing up. Then they realised i'm just naturally awkward. And a clutz. or something. *wanders off*
oh, before i forget, heres an idea: if you're using a house rule to allow impact to add to ballistic when the damage is stun, why not just allow impact to add to impact against flichette when its stun or something?
