Full Version: A word in Harlequin's "Ritual"...

Okay, I was reading through Harlequin the other day and realised that I wasn't entirely sure what a certain word was. On the bright side it's going to be a quick thread to answer, but what is the asterisked word?

QUOTE
From the focus of my heart I call the words
Of anger spoken and desire revealed
By my Challenge of word and deed
By my blood consecrete thy bane invoked
Thy shape and form decreed never was.

On the Physical form, I call the words of rendering
On thy Hates, I invoke Justice, thy anger unappeased
On thy Past in shadows, I shine the light revelaed
On thy Loves and joys, I gift separation
On thy Spirit, I speak abandonment
On thy Future, I bring fear and grief
On thee I invoke all.

The winds shall erase thy name
The sands the traces of they path
The sun the ********* of thy shadow
And unto the waters I command thy essence
Thy Shape and Form decreed never was.

Thanks in advance.

9-letter word...any more clues, like what some of the letters in the word are?
BookWyrm
How about a little more clarity, like which Harlequin book is it? What page?
Ancient History
As chance said, "The sun the coolness of thy shadow."

I have more or less the whole text under chal'han in my Sperethiel dictionary.
Chance359
Two points for the fat kid.
FanGirl
Ka_Ge mislead us! "Coolness" has only 8 letters, but he clearly posted 9 asterisks.

Obviously, I'm very upset about this. frown.gif
LilithTaveril
Maybe the word includes punctuation?
FanGirl
But the word "coolness" doesn't have any punctuation!
LilithTaveril
The sun, the coolness, of thy shadow

At least, that's how I'd write it.
FanGirl
But that's just not how it's punctuated in the quote. wink.gif

I certainly hope not!

well its written twice, once its typed out on page 127, ad then later on its done as a tag. The tag is alot harder to read

Do not encourage FanGirl to buy the book.
MK Ultra
In the german version it says 'die Kühle Deines Schattens' which means 'the coolness of thy shadow'.
Bodak
I vote for "coolness". Sans punctuation.

I laugh at you biggrin.gif

It's not hard to read at all in my copy. You spill your coffee on it or something?

Beg pardon? You told me I could read any book that came before System Failure. Why this new restriction, and why didn't I learn of it until just now?
emo samurai
I didn't think you'd know of the book... And what book might you be talking about?
FanGirl
Harlequin, of course. That's the one that everyone is talking about here, right?
Kagetenshi
Isn't it a romance novel?

~J
MK Ultra
Aren´t all shadowrun adventures romance novels?

Harlequin's Back is romance.

Harlequin is a sordid tale of lust and vengence.
Kagetenshi
It was a joke nyahnyah.gif
