I'm going to be a summoner in my next campaign and I can’t decide what to use as a main battle spirit. Its between the beast spirit or the guardian spirit. Now I see the guardian has some higher stats but the only mentor spirit that has a +2 guardian is “sun, And I kind of like beast spirits. I was wondering what you guys would do. Should I just stick with the wolf mentor that has a +2 to beast or should I just go for something that might be a little better? Do you think the guardian has a big advantage over a beast?
And if I do choose to pick guardian, I will have to take the Norse tradition over shamanic.

If you take the Norse tradition, there are a few in the Norse pantheon, such as Tyr, who would be suitable for a Sun mentor spirit. But you would be roleplaying a driven, heroic type, and also dealing with spirits that tend to be treacherous, hostile, and demanding of tribute.
A wolf shaman might not be quite as good, purely numbers-wise, but would probably be much less of a headache to play. I also get the impression that you like both the wolf mentor spirit and beast spirits more. I don't see anything wrong with doing some min-maxing, but don't ditch something you would really enjoy playing, to get a few extra dice with a character that leaves you feeling lukewarm.

The new spirits in Street Magic tend to be stronger than the original set in the BBB. But bear in mind that only those traditions in Street Magic have access to them. Paradoxically, the most of the new Mentor spirits seem to have been written with the Shamanic tradition in mind with regards to game balance.
Until the errata for Street Magic is official, the Norse tradition has access to Beast spirits too.

It depends on which kind of mystic you want to RP. If you are attracted to the ideal of the driven heroic warrior type, few traditions are as so well suited as the Norse. You would be the self-reliant mystic who carves his way and ideals in the world by spell and spirit, and spirits more his servants or untrustworthy allies. Shaman is more about the harmony and service, keeping balance with nature by defending it against any threats, and spirits as your mentors and true allies. Personally I like Norse and its RP archetype much more than Amerind shamanism, but that's me. I would just point that also by min-maxing POV, Norse has one of the best spirit type selections available. Remind, there's a bug, they use Earth spirits for manipulation, not Beast.

But the author has already conceded it was a mistake and he meant Earth spirits all allong, as indicated by the text blurb.

Spirits of Beasts are pretty nasty in combat with Natural Weapon and Venom.

But he also says that the Beast spirits were meant for the Bear sarks too. So how they are going to resolve that is what I want to know. Perhaps it would be done like the Wicca tradition - 1 tradition, dual interpretations.
Until then, it is a toss up.

yep, but he also said that Bear sarks were meant to be a wholly separate Asatru mystical traditions, and that in confusion of final editing, the Bear sarks got cut and mixed with the Norse template. Indeed the berserkers animals channeling (mystic) adepts look rather distinct in focus from the rune-weaving godi magiciand or mystic adepts, even if they both hail from the same culture. And the Norse blurb text indicate that they were meant to have Guardian, Earth, Air, Water, and Fire.
One might indeed set up Bear Sarks as a separate Norse subtradition, that would be nice, and probably the best way to errata the mistake, but then probably the best choice would be for them to substitute Guardian with Beasts. These two spirit types have a lot off thematic overlapping and leaving them both in a template looks like waste and overkill. And letting Godes to have Earth.
