Does anybody feel like making rules for them? A player in my campaign wants to have them.
cetiah

You mean like an anthroform drone? Or like a vehicle?
Or some sort of cyborg body?

Anthro drone....I am the player

Drone. Human-sized, but not human-looking.

Mitsuhishi MetalMan™
Anthroform Droid (Large)

Handling -1
Acceleration 2/10
Speed 10
Pilot 3
Body 4
Armor 8
Sensor 3
Availability 12R
Firewall 3
Cost 6000¥

The anthromorph is has an effective Physical Group skill rating equal to its Maneuver autosoft.
Upgradeable 'hand' modules allow a variety of weapons to be swapped out, as needed, prior to being sent on a mission. The typical configuration for this model has two pistols or one assault rifle.
Equipped with Maneuver 3, Defense 3, and Targeting 3 autosofts.

Picturing this as one of those funny metal-men with guns from the Terminator movies. (Not the actual main Terminators, of course, but the robot drones from the 'future flashback' scenes.) Or one of the tin men from the original Battlestar Galactica show.

Optional Transformation Module: +80,000¥. The anthromorph loses its humanoid form and adjusts its size, transforming into a Eurocar Westwind. It retains all of its stats, except the following: Handling +3, Acceleration 20/60, Speed 240. If damaged, the Eurocar automatically reverts to its humanoid form, expelling all passengers and cargo.

Optional Communications Module: +4,000¥. The anthromorph is capable of basic speed, possessing no native language but has a number of virtual 'Knowledge Skill Points' equal to its Pilot Rating (3), which can only be spent on languages.

And which Transformer is that, cetiah?

I wanted to make a jet, but we don't seem to have stats for those and a transformer rotor plane seemed kind of lame...

Eh. With some baggy clothing and long coat and hat some of 'em can pass for a street sam in the dark.

Yeah, we need 7' tall labor bots that can be upgraded from a construction chassis to security or military, we need hot Robo-Maids, and we need body double RoxBots to stand in for corporate bigwigs in case of assassination.

But we also need lil' ones, to play with and/or teach the kids (Nanny Ruxpin is a registered trademark of the Renraku Corporation), walk the dog, or other tasks.

Heck, if all else fails, they can dance.

Hell Yes
cetiah
No problem. When do you need them by? smile.gif

What about a for legged eyeball robot. Like from Jonny Quest.
I'm not sure but aren't the crawler drones anthroforms?
Like the Axtechnology Crawler can handle stairs and other obstacles. I guess that could be treads
KarmaInferno
"Anthroform" is by definition human-like.

It is derived from "anthropomorphic", which means having human-like qualities.

So no, crawler drones are not anthroforms.

The book defines an anthroform as any vehicle that walks on legs. So that definition is wrong by the books standard.

Pilot Anthroform (Reaction)
This skill is used to operate any vehicle that walks on legs.
It is also used if such operation is remotely controlled.

So YES the crawler is an anthroform as long as it walks on legs like the same suggests
Wakshaani
Anthroforms include anything with legs, actually... teh spider-like spy drones use Pilot Anthromorphic, after all. You're probably thinking of AnthroPOmorphic, which means "Shaped like a human".

Tricky word difference, but, fortunately, you have an English Major here to help. smile.gif

There's a dire need for more leg-based drones as well, tho. At the *very* least, I want a German Shepard-ish drone, call it a K-10 (We improved on the previous design), which can do security patrols or carry a Lone Star program.

Once you have a basic quadruped design, you can start churning out all sorts of drones that use it. You start with pets, with Drone Cats and Drone Dogs, again that can be used as toys for a child, teaching them as they play, or that could be programmed with senior citizen aid functions as well. From there, security or police applications are obvious, and there'll be a market for idle rich luxury goods as well ... what BTL dealer wouldn't love to have his own Elephant, for example?

Realistic animals also make fantastic surveilance drones, such as a pigeon, rat, or cat in an urban area, any sort of fish in the water, or a 'gator for the bayou. There's even a market for combat versions of the same ... getting into that Proteus underwater facility's a whole lot harder when it's patroled by drone sharks, whether or not they have frickin' lasers in their heads.

Drones are just *begging* for more love.
