Full Version: Fate of The Shadowrun Supplemental 1-6?

Yo, all. I'm just now realizing that TSS has a bunch of great stuff that I somehow never checked out before. I know, I'm late. nyahnyah.gif

I'm really wanting the whole collection. I just grabbed 7-end off the site, but at the bottom there's the disclaimer about 1-6 coming out "mid-2003" as TSS 1997. Anyone know anything about that?

I don't recall ever seeing TSS 1997, but that doesn't mean it's not right in front of me.
TonkaTuff
Last August, Wordman posted a link to his archive of a bunch of shadowrun netbooks, including the entirety of the Shadowrun Supplemental. The announcement post is here. I can't remember seeing a post saying it was no longer cool to use it, but you may want to check before diving in.
eidolon
You're the man. Thanks.

Issue 1 of TSS seems to be missing though... any ideas, anybody?

Adam
Issue 1 is near useless; a great portion of it was summaries/capsule reviews of nearly every SR sourcebook to date.

The 1997 compilation was never finished ... once I started working fulltime in the industry in late 2002, I just never found the time/effort to donate to fan stuff again.

I'm sure I still have my notes for how I wanted the compilation to work out, although I haven't worked on them in years. Any of the SR3-lovers fancy an editing project? wink.gif

Adam, I've got one somewhere on my comp where you and Bull made a dwarven opera singer contact, going for the "most useless contact".
Kagetenshi
Psht, I can think of at least eight ways to use that contact, seven if you don't name her Luba Luft.

Ah, but useless matters little to the completist! wink.gif

And yeah, I'd love to have the notes, if for no other reason than curiosity. I really can't believe I never paid more attention to TSS. I ended up going to sleep way too late last night just to finish reading the one that added a bunch of locations to Seattle. biggrin.gif

I think that was the Genius~! of Steven Tinner actually ... Bull challenged people to come up with "useless" contacts, and the Dwarven Opera Singer won.
fistandantilus4.0
He had your name on it as well, along with Bull. I'll look it up.
TonkaTuff
Issue 1 nearly-useless? Mm. Perhaps. Though the reviews are quite nice to have for people interested in picking up the old books for background fluff. And where else will you find info on Spiderman-style webshooters? =)

Odd that it wasn't available on the server, though. Now I don't have the slightest idea where I managed to dig up a copy.

Anybody that needs issue 1 can grab it right here.

(provided it is all legal and what not to do it) Can someone scan in all the kage magazines and post them some where to be downloaded?

Either that or does someone have them and willing to sell them to me?

Unfortunately, Kage is still under copyright (and will be for many years to come). So, that would not be legal. There was some discussion about a year ago about possibly getting those scanned and up on the various PDF sale sites. However, I haven't heard anything about it in some time.

As somebody who subscribed to Kage -- IMO you're not really missing all that much. The magazines were extremely short and of inconsistent quality.

Great. So if we ever did see it again, it'd be updated to cancer and cost $40 per hardcover issue.
BookWyrm
I think I still have my copies of KA*GE....including the one with my own contribution. embarrassed.gif
(checking)
Yes! Still have them! biggrin.gif:D

Psst -- WizKids, not Wizards. wink.gif It's pretty unlikely that WizKids gots the cancer. It's much more likely that they'll make a miniatures game out of it.
eidolon
Ha! Knee jerk reaction. Neither one thrills me at the upper echelons, so I just lump them in.

Although IIRC, Wizkids makes Pirates! (And yeah, SR. But ... well...)

So any chance in seeing PDFs of them for sale? The old Shadowland mag too (I hope)?
fistandantilus4.0
Apparently I'm a bit slow. Here's the one I was thinking of.

QUOTE (The Shadowrun Supplemental #3)

Dwarven Opera Singer
Steven Tinner <Bluewizard@ncweb.com>

This somewhat ridiculous contact is the result of a suggestion made by Adam “WildAngle - Don’t call me Fro
anymore!” Jury, a reply made by favorite ego booster/player Steven “Bull - Don’t hurt me no more Mr. GM
Sir!” Ratkovich” and my own desire to prove to the world just what sort of Evil GMing I am capable of! smile.gif
Enjoy!

I’d also like to take the time to challenge anyone reading this to try to stump me with a TOTALLY unusable
contact/archetype.
Call me cocky, but I firmly believe that there is NO concept too bizarre for SR.
If you think you have one, send it to me at bluewizard@ncweb.com and I’ll be more than happy to prove
you wrong! smile.gif
"This lifestyle is glamorous it's true, but I long for adventure. Sure, I travel the world, Italy today, tomorrow
Japan. I see a lot of the major players too. Just last week I was privileged to perform for the Imperial
Emperor of Japan himself. A person ... hears things ... on these trips. Maybe some things you'd like to
know?"

QUOTES "I can shatter a glass with my voice, and I can shatter careers with my tongue. Which would
you like me to do?"
"Why just the other day I was saying to Damie. Damie? Oh, you probably call him Mr.
Knight."
"Let's retire to the casino and discuss this matter in a civilized manner."

COMMENTARY The Dwarven Opera Singer may seem like just another high roller, but as a
performer in high demand among the wealthy and powerful he hears a lot of secrets.
He has the art of schmoozing the rich down to an art form. Odds are though that he
came from a grittier background ... maybe he still remembers that tougher life.
Maybe he'd like to help some of his old street brothers off the street as they make a
big score?

You and me both - I have all the Shadowland mags (in storage, hence the desire for PDFs), but I've never owned an issue of KAGE eek.gif indifferent.gif

Speaking of Ka-Ge reminded me...

Does anybody know where I can get the SR stuff that was in Challenge magazine? The runs I saw printed were nicely done, and I wouldn't mind finding them again.
BookWyrm
You'll have to find them either online or someone who has back issues of Challenge.
