I looking to create 2 lists, one for stun and the other for physical, of different types of damage done by each of the wound levels. Here is what I've got so far.

Actually, unless it was changed from SR2 to SR3 (Yeah, I'm so stuck on 2. Sorry, I like it.), when you take D Physical, you check to see if you lose any limbs.

Physical:

Light
Small cut or graze
Lighter/cigarette burn

Moderate
Bullet wound (In a minor area of the body)
Slice (Being attacked with an edged weapon)
Minor bonfire burn

Serious
Bullet wound (In a more major area, like an arm or leg)
Hack (Being attacked with an edged weapon, and bleeding profusely)
Major bonfire burn

Deadly
Bullet wound (In the head, neck, or torso)
Severance (Loss of limb)
3rd Degree Burn

Mental:

Light
Light headache
Stubbed finger/toe

Moderate
Headache
Loud noise (Machinery, music, screaming)

Serious
Head trauma
Constant headaches (I'm doing horrible with my English rolls right now... What is that word?)

Deadly
Concussion (Possibly Physical overflow)

Tanka has a good description there.

A character typically won't leave any traceable material, such as a large enough puddle of blood, to be tracked via magic until he reaches a Moderate wound or higher.

Sometimes stun damage will cause slight nose bleeds and the like if it's Serious or higher... another fun physical manifestation to let your friends know when it's good to slap a stim patch on you while you're away from the meat. Mind you, only the one patch per day boys.

And my next invention... the slim patch! Just one a day and you'll see those pounds vanish into thin air!

I disagree. Remember, a Light wound is something that will make all tasks significantly harder (+1 to all TNs) and is something that a Light Pistol shot is capable of, if not staged either way. Light wounds may be Light, but they aren't minor. A lighterburn doesn't even hit L damage, IMO. There's no way a stubbed finger/toe or light headache would do that, either.

Light Physical: Low-caliber gunshot, minor stab wound, severed digit, mid-sized burn or smaller serious burn.

Moderate Physical: solid gunshot wound that didn't hit organs, cracked ribs, significant blood loss.

Serious Physical: Gunshot wound to torso including organ damage, broken ribs, broken limb, severe burns, massive blood loss.

Deadly Physical: Gunshot wound to head that didn't glance off skull, deep wound to neck, massive trauma to skull or ribcage, even more massive blood loss than Serious Physical.

Light Mental: Decently bad headache, significant lightheadedness. Getting hit in the head hard by a comparatively soft object (a few good hits with a heavy pillow maybe)

Moderate Mental: Disorientation, minor migraine. (Getting hit in the head by a padded weapon, getting punched in the face)

Serious Mental: Serious migraine, serious disorientation, lightheadedness to the point of significant balance problems, minor concussion (getting slugged in the face by someone who knows what they're doing, taking a sandbag to the back of the head)

Deadly Mental: Serious concussion, lightheadedness/disorientation past the point of functionality, unconsciousness. (Taking a sandbag to the back of the head by someone who knows what they're doing, an escrima stick to the head)

Fair enough. Although, to some of us, that damn paper cut sure can make things tougher! rotfl.gif
Diesel
Yeah, I'm more for uber-injury.

Light Physical:

Severed digits
Low caliber gunshot wound to limb
Superficial headwound (cheek blown through, etc.)

Moderate Physical:

Extremity destroyed (hand mangled, sword induced foot loss)
Glancing headwound (broken jaw, ear loss)
Shot to non-vital area of torso/Broken ribs
Eye+Nose bleed, burns (drain)

Serious Physical:

Punctured lung
Serious internal bleeding (severed femoral artery, etc.)
Extremity / limb destroyed (see picture in Man&Machine for Trauma Damper...that guy's arm)
High caliber torso shot
Blood faucet courtesy facial orifaces 2nd degree burns to good portion of body(drain)

Deadly Physical:

Bullet in the head / heart
De-legged
Gutted from sternum to crotch like a rainbow trout courtesy a samurai
Arteries snaking out of limbs, third degree burns in localized areas (drain)

etc.

That was the picture for the Pain Editor, not the Trauma Damper.
Remember, Deadly isn't Dead. I'd also have to question femoral artery severing being under Serious, as those things generally lead to pretty quick death if not attended to immediately.

~J
Diesel
Yeah, that's generally what happens to seriously wounded people in my games. Unless they're close to a doctor or a mage they're going to bleedout and die very quickly.

Dead does equal dead for us, unless you Hand o' God, and even then, you've got overflow to deal with.

My bad on the Trauma/pain thing. I can never figure which is which, and have constant arguments -

"NO! THAT'S THE TRAUMA EDITOR!"
"You cockface! There's no such thing!"
Kagetenshi
Ok, if you go off-canon and eliminate overdamage and add bleeding after Serious, then your damage levels make perfect sense.
That would, however, have been something good to say when posting nyahnyah.gif

~J
Diesel
Shh. Use it or ignore it. Everyone is always so mean.
Kagetenshi
Nah, not everyone, just me wink.gif

Something else to keep in mind is that these might be different for different characters, based off of your body (represented by 'staging damage down'). So, because of his shear bulk, the uber troll is mildly annoyed by the .45 bullet lodged between his ribs, whereas the dinky mage is now equally distracted because of a big, nasty paper cut (OWWWIIIEEE! Need to convert that library to CD already...)

Deja vu! I do that exact thing!

[edit]
oops.. not exactly, I still have overdamage but at that point your body is NOT a self-supporting entity.. death already knocked, you answered, and he's having coffe with you on the veranda. Your body is in a coma, or if you make that really sick roll, it should be in a coma but is barely conscious. It's that state in the movies where you have that really touching scene to say some last words before shuffling off this mortal coil, or get that last luck shot burning all your karma a la Road to Perdition.

Short story. You re definitely not okay.. thats a light in the tunnel near death experience.

Diesel
Damn straight. I hate people eating non-staged shotgun and acting like their smartlink is just having a bad ware day. biggrin.gif

Oddly enough, my campaign's mortality rate is especially low, despite the previous.
sir fwank
friend of mine works in collections and occasionally has to deal with someone who died. his favorite is as follows.

cause of death: massive blunt force trauma
explanation of death: subject walked on to train tracks and waited for train.

being hit by a train, needless to say, deadly damage.
