Yeah, but...he didn't...
Don' take this away from us!
Ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive
Mickey, you should have shot the other Heavy. That way, when Teng is left, we could have been like "This is why we've been askin' for you, bitch.", then Pow.

Okay, a little creative licence here...
Using his remaining action so he can get his cursing out, but outside where all can see and know it's Bleeding Edge turf.
Initiative roll: 8+6+2=16
Athletics roll: 1,7,9,8 Chasin' the bastard down Quickness 7+3 successes=10 10X3=30 meters per phase. I should easily outrun him.
Perception test: 4,4,5,3,1 Remember, I got the perceptive edge for -1 target number That's a quick check. I assume he has the Distinctive Style flaw for another -1 target number modifier.
Pistols roll: Target running=+2 target number
Attacker running=+4 target number
Base target number 4
Smartlink -2 target number
Final target number 8
Combat pool refreshes so I got all 9
First shot: 5 dice skill, 5 dice combat pool: 15,5,4,9,5,4,1,1,11,3 3 successes for 9S damage.
Second Shot: 5 dice skill, 4 dice combat pool: 2,4,5,3,2,5,1,3,10...I choose to spend karma to reroll all failures. 3,8,16,1,5,11,5,11...plus the 10 from before makes 5 successes for 9D damage.
If he uses combat pool to dodge he better have a lot! With that wound he needs at least 5's, maybe 6's to dodge!
This is Combat Monster in action! And I gotta fight for at leat 1 more round! This could be Mickey's swan song!

Now, now, Digidestined...oops, I mean Digital Heroin...don't be jealous. After all, you get to live. I just burned all my combat pool and my only karma pool in a chase where I dunno what's waiting for me outside that door! If I get bushwhacked I'm hosed! Damned combat monster flaw! I blame the govornment!

Initiative roll: 6+6=12
Athletics roll: 4, 4, 1, 6 Quickness 6+3 successes=9 9x3=27 meters. With the calf wound, I should run him down.
Perception test: 4, 4, 3, 11, 2, 1, to see him.
Pistols roll: Target running=+2 target number
Attacker running=+4 target number
Base target number 4
Smartlink -2 target number
Final target number 8
8 combat pool
Nick puts everything into the first shot. 6 dice and 6 combat pool.
02 01 02 05 03 08 11 05 08 03 10 07
4 successes, thats 10D, baby.
The next shot, 6 dice and 2 combat pool
4, 4, 3, 4, 4, 1, 2, 2. All misses... damn.
This rocks.

Dec 9 2003, 07:35 AM
Uh, Voorhees, you can only put as much karma into a test as you have levels of skill. Most you could put in is 6 dice.

I just had an idea that I wanted to throw at you guys. I'm going to be running a game soon that will be a tribe of Otaku. They live accross the street from a gang. They do matrix favors for the gang, and in return, the gang watches out for them. I was thinking it would be totally cool if you guys were the gang they lived accross from and if it ever comes up the their house is attacked, you guys could come into my game and help them out. They could also do some stuff in yours if you needed any Matrix stuff taken care of. What do you guys think?

It's doable. We'll talk about it at the convention. Also, general notice: I'll be at Gencon SoCal until *very* late the evening of the 14th. Don't expect much between today and then, as I doubt I'll have internet access.

Poor Timone...poor Teng.
I guess evoking emotional responses in the players is one of the marks of a good GM. Kudos.

Prometheus is a very regal looking troll. For street trash, he's about as good looking as it gets. He's clean-shaven and well kept. His clothes include a Bleeding Edge denim vest and some leather pants. He also has a motorcycle-chain for a necklace, having gotten the idea from another gang memeber. He's seated as a king on his throne, despite the slumped head. |

Umm... well, we've basically dealt with the first store... unless I missed something.
So... you're welcome to move onto the next one, if you like. Let's see... there's also hunting down Badger's antagonists (although you'd have to check back and hear about it, first). There's also going back to that bar. I'm sorry if you feel that way. You're one of my favorite characters, and I don't mean to leave you out. I promise I'll have something special for you when I return from SoCal.

Bwa ha ha ha! 2 down, 2 to go! I was sure I was gonna get popped by a guy waiting outside and have only body dice to deal with it.
Okay, normally I'd haul a body in to see if it had usefull chrome, but this time it's a message. Edger turf! People see the body of a prominent pimp, they know we mean business.
What'd I get from Teng, LM? Scrounge roll of 2,3,4,3,4. Remember I got the perceptive edge. I'm taking it all...matches, car keys, wallet, credstick. Before we go, if he has a credstick, I'll use his still warm thumbprint to "open"it so we can use the cash.
Next I check the orks. If they got 'wear it's harvested. Scrounge roll: 2,3,4,1,4
Also, yellow was the one armed one, right? I'll be giving the ol street doc a call to see how much he'd charge to get a used cyberarm attatched if she's interested.

Hey, I been thinking about Badger's troubles. The rotting meat thing does sound like ghouls, but I'm guessing that's a cover! We might end up tangling with a Tamanous chapter.
Oh yeah...get that cyberarm back! We got a half amerind hooker who managed to take down an ork with a zipper gun and fire it with 1 arm. We get that thing on her and I bet she loves us!

Hey, what can Mickey use beside Pistols? Or is it just that.
It's kind of aggravating not being able to see other people's characters...although, I could give a little description of Nick.
Nick is a self described cheap hood. He plays loud guitar late at night, races motorcycles, and has a record from getting caught by the rozzers one too many times after fights. He hates garbagemen because his parents were run over by a garbage truck. Nick usually wears black leather, in the form of Jackets and Pants, and T-shirts with punk rock bands over 80 years old on them. He wears a necklace made from an old motorcycle chain. It clasps in the front with a padlock, much like Sid Vicious's trademark necklace. He also has several tatoos. An oriental dragon silhouette on his left forearm, tribal designs on his chest, celtic knotwork around each bicep, and the word 'UNFORGIVEN' in Old English Type across his shoulderblades.
For a cheap hood, though, Nick is unusually skilled. He can use Assault Rifles, Shotguns, and SMGs almost as well as he can Pistols, thanks to copious amounts of time he spent on gun ranges, and just playing with his Fixer friend's arsenal. He usually uses his Ares Predator, named Gigi, and his Warhawk, named Mr. Blasty, although he will use his heavier weapons if trouble is expected. Under Nick's bed, in an old blue Ares duffelbag, he keeps his small arsenal.
Man, I had to type that twice...

, he found himself in <campaign location>, squatting where he could, scrounging what he could and commiting petty crimes to eat. He defended his little hole in the wall with a big monkey wrench with the closing pincer broken off that he found discarded somewhere and managed to take his predator from a suit who got careless and robbed. He ended up defending himself ably from a small street gang that wanted "rent" for his hole in the wall. He cracked a few heads and shot the rest...making the gang that recruited him's job easier when they went to war over turf. He sort of ended up a part of the gang by serendipity. He'd aided the gang and bled for it, even though he wasn't a part of it at the time, so they adopted him. They soon discovered he had usefull skills from his security guard days and an eye for detail. He was put in charge of "gang security." Basically, making sure they didn't get ambushed and escorting the boss anywhere he felt threatened. He sees the gang as his family and employer and is very loyal. Other gangs he sees as parasites. He's a big advocate of gang aggressiveness. He's never seen without his leather jacket and keeps a Renraku patch with a red circle-and-slash through it on it's left chest.
Heh...cut and pasted selectively from his character description.
He can use SMG's as well. He knows how the cops and corp security works, knows a bit about tactics and how to be in charge from his old life. He's been scorched, though, and I'm sure the Renraku comments and patch on his jacket gives it away where that's from.
