Which is all good when the man in question is secure in your garage and they are not without reason to be upset. But during the operation itself, I can guarantee to keep my cool, and make sure no one gets overly...enthusiastic... with the cargo." Her clothing has changed- a soft blue button-up sweater, and a simple, loose grey skirt, knee-length. Her hair is wrapped up and tied in a tight ballerina bun. There is a slender silver chain around her neck, with a pendant tucked into her sweater, and her pearl and silver bracelet at her wrist. She looks a bit worn down, shadows forming under her big blue eyes, her complexion dipping from ivory into a worrisome paleness. I too rarely need a vehicle and when I do I tend to 'hitch' although LA's lack of an underground makes that more difficult.
I do have a leased Everglades you could use but is not outfitted for 'business' and would need it's data-trail professionally cleaned.
<<tightbeam @ Gilles>> I have a small number of Capsule rounds loaded with Narcoject and DMSO and a silenced SMG to deliver them. This I would prefer over unarmed hand to hand subdual, I have no doubt that the man is well within my capability but there is always the risk that he will squeak before he can be silenced.

Tightbeam @ Gilles.
May I respectfully disagree? Removing the target from his residence in his own vehicle has a very small window of exposure. Other methods are likely to generate more loose ends. A great many of this City's Freeways now have off-ramps to nowhere. We can bring the vehicle down one with light or spoofed surveillance and transfer him to the Everglades in relative safety before driving the car into the water. My only concern is using the Everglades as it is not a 'clean' vehicle. I'm sure it's transponder can be spoofed and it's plates taped over. I am certain it has no hidden tags to reveal it's location. At worst it burns a cheap SIN and I have to find a new apartment.
My main concern is blundering into security we are unprepared for and here I completely agree with you. Fools rush in and all that, I am still less than convinced that this is not a setup.

It could have no manuel over-ride, and a hacker could take control of it and drive us straight to Lone Star. It could have internal camera. It could have external cameras. It could be sufficiently complicated that we would not be able to steal it. What if it has one of those electrocuting anti-theft systems? What if it requires a voice biometrics to start? What if we cannot open the garage door. What if his car only has a liter of fuel left in the tank? What if it is a sports car, with only room for two people? What if a hacker just tracks the car, without making himself known, to where we switch vehicles, picks up on the node of the other vehicle, and then follows that? What if his car is in the shop. What if Lonestar is called immediately, and, knowing exactly which car we have, they pick us out easily with a helicopter? These are just things of the top of my head, without getting devious. Not quite accurate. The external camera's are public access ones broadcasting on the street. Can probably hijack them, but I'd rather not unless we definately need them dead.
While he might be an old orc he is an active runner dealing in jobs most of us wouldn't touch. This means he's likely to be ruthless, well armed and trained. I'd count the bioware as being combat improvements until proven otherwise, just to be on the safe side.
He also should be assumed to have hired muscle and some German friends in the area. Don't know where they are, but they'll either be hidden close by or come if alerted.
Oh and one thing we should confirm, is the camera feed geniune? Only it seems odd that a runner would have such poor security. I know my place is wired with IED's and all kinds of traps, which makes this look like a set up. I'd suggest you have someone do some astral recon or look around in person before going in.

QUOTE (Portia Opfenmeier @ Oct 25 2008, 12:42 PM)

Portia pulls her hands off her neck, and straightens her back, pressing her hands into the bartop. Her voice is tight, and serious. "Help me convince them to take me with them. You know I can do good work with my.. magic. I helped Jenna. Help me show your friends that I can help them too."
"Listen, kid, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not going to send you with them. They are a bunch of chromed, tweaked, hardass 'runners. Guns, blades, fireballs and lightning. Blood and pain. They're going to sneak past corporate security, break in that man's house, and drag his ass back here. And I'm gonna sit his ass down, let Dancer's monowire-crazy ass tie him up, and we, you, me, and the rest, are gonna sit down and have a talk. And then I'm going to hurt him, and decide how far I want to take this. I'm tempted to dig all in your backstory shit and find out why -my- name came up. And you're going to get to talk to this man, and I'm pretty sure you're going to come out of this shit hard. But this ain't going to be your first run. Not if I got any say in it."
