For those still looking for background links, I am not playing Salt here, but rather Sam Marlowe, old school gumshoe, seemingly stuck in a world that never quite existed, but following the tenants of the film noir PI. Of course, as with all things in the shadows, he is not exactly what he seems to be. The fact his aura is a big fat blank spot might be a clue. He is one half of the Gunsmoke Detective Agency, the muscle to Tommy Wolfe, Irish-Catholic Chaos Mage.

Links could be established through Tommy, who has been on the streets a lot longer than Sam, and more recent background could involve Sam directly. I was specifically thinking that the Gunsmoke boys could have had some form of agreement/interaction with MrAres' adept, as Tommy is a man of the streets, and a former Lone Star cop, and that Sam himself could have had a hand in helping JD get free of her corporate research incarceration.

Also notable is that Sam was not always Sam, and he had a few years working forensics for Lone Star before taking on new life...

...and yes, that all has a lot of vague in it.

Interesting. Since Tig was also involved in J.D.'s extraction from the UniOmni facility, that would imply that Tig and Sam were on the same team. That is, unless they were working without knowledge of the other. If the former is the case, we'll have to coordinate exactly what happened with those three characters.

And that brings up the question of whether or not Sam would initially be aware of the fact that the young woman he extracted and the courier J.D. are, in fact, the same person? Sam could have helped with the extraction and gone on his merry way, without finding out what J.D. did after leaving UniOmni. Maybe J.D. showed up to deliver some evidence to the Gunsmoke Detective Agency years later, and Sam had no idea who the helmet-wearing lunatic handing him a box was.

All sounds like viable options to me:D

I'm up for collaborating a backstory. Sorry it's taken me so long to post a concept. I kept changing my mind as I struggled to learn the system and build my character. silly.gif

The one sentence summary: Krsnik is a cyber-enhanced crimefighter trying to make a difference in the world by protecting the innocent and inspiring others to pay forward good deeds.

Here's the more detailed summary:

Aleksander Ceh, AKA Krsnik, is a Sixth-World masked cyberavenger. cyber.gif His parents, immigrants to the UCAS from Ljubljana, Slovenia, were mild-mannered megacorp employees who were killed on the dangerous streets of [insert everytown UCAS]. Determined to avenge their deaths, he tried to find a way to make a positive impact on the world. He tried charities and volunteering but was met with corruption at every turn. In a fit of frustration, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

While growing up, his parents told him of the Slovenian myths of Krsnik. The Krsnik myths took many forms, from vampire hunter (or Kudlak hunter) to fire god to benevolent magician, but they all had one thing in common: the Krsnik helped mankind in an unforgiving world. Inspired by those stories, Aleksander decided to don the mantle of the mythical hero.

Krsnik has carved out a small niche for himself in street lore. Patrolling gang-infested areas, he often drops in on criminals as they are shaking down innocent victims or staging other perfidious acts of malevolence. Some say Krsnik is one man, others say he is a team of demented do-gooders because some have sworn that they have seen the crusader cut down by their comrades. The truth of the matter is that Krsnik has managed to survive each severed limb, each lost organ, by augmenting himself with cyberware.

Nowadays, the Krsnik stories revolve around a masked man wielding a varied array of guns, blades, and a grappler. Wherever there is danger, wherever an innocent might suffer, Krsnik will be there to lend a helping hand.
