This is the place for Team 1 (Isinghar, Sabs, Thanee and Faraday) to post their out of character ramblings.
I will stick with the format I've seen used before -
- [[]] and orange time/location stamp.
- <<>> and yellow to indicate anything that's said by way of comms that's not being heard, either by typing or subvocal mic.
- If it's in "" it's actually being said, regardless of color. Bold any character names.
Anything else I'm missing, let me know.
Please post a little about yourself, if you'd like, but I mean about *you* not your character.
We'll start the IC posts with a description of you opening the door to the room you've been led to (ooh, nebulous!) and describing what you do. I'll give a general layout of what you see first, and then we'll go from there. Please take it in order, and describe your character as they are currently. No need to tell us anything we wouldn't be able to see being there. If someone has beaten you to the punch, you'll see them in the room, however they describe themselves (in a chair, leaning against a wall, whatever) when you arrive.

One more bit of OOC business that would be useful to me: what time zone are you all posting from? I don't ever want to expect someone to be posting when it's three AM where they are.

So about 8h or so ahead of Denver time. It's exactly midnight right now.

I'm in Pacific time, which is an hour earlier than our esteemed GM.

On a side note, that last email should be enough to let us get on with this game.

Okay, so one each for the four standard US time zones, naturally. And a wildly varied list of possible places that Thanee could be from.

So the package is going to be delivered inside of the denver map that's on the wiki?

Correct. All that the Johnson has said is somewhere in the FRFZ, which stretches from Boulder in the northwest to Colorado Springs in the south, but the map is relevant to this particular job.

I understand that. I'm terrible about hogging the spotlight myself, but I step back and remind myself that everyone has a full day at least to respond to the GM's posts.

I've got another work related Xmas party this afternoon, and then will be forced to work this evening, so my posting might be spotty.
J. Packer
Dec 17 2010, 03:38 AM
Back from the party, and now about to log back into the office, but I updated the IC thread. I've had two nibbles on our open mage position, and I've told second one (and ought to tell the first) that I'm going to leave it up to you four to decide who gets to join, once I have more details from them both.

@sabs: Just for the record... comms in passive mode (which seems to be most comms around) won't answer to your "ping".
Bye
Thanee
sabs
Dec 17 2010, 12:39 PM
Actually when in Passive mode, it will throw up a "someone had pinged you" message and will ask you if you want to answer it or not. Hidden is where it won't give any feedback what so ever. Though you /can/ set autofilters to block out anything except pre-authorized nodes.
Thanee
Dec 17 2010, 01:25 PM
Yep, that is what I meant... our commlinks get a request, and unless it is actively answered, there is no reply.

Sure

but my guy probably only discovered Passive mode like a month ago.. it's all very new to him.
I'm not sure he knows about hidden mode.
Thanee
Dec 17 2010, 02:07 PM
Dunno. I'm pretty sure that those comm modes are not only used by shadowrunners.

He was a good corporate drone, living in an corp enclave, working in a corp mall. I mean, he knew about passive, but only in that..this is what I set when I want to take a nap at work. He's lived in "your commlink must be on Active" areas.. pretty much all his life.
J. Packer
Dec 17 2010, 04:16 PM
Passive mode is for people who are dodgy, or antisocial. Never mind that in some places, leaving your comm in active is inviting AR spam from every direction.
It'd be like a teenager today saying he put his phone on vibrate so he could ignore texts and <insert social media that kids like today> updates...
If you're a good citizen - and good citizens are good consumers - you have your comm in active.

Hello all,
I'm applying for the game on team 1 and posted my character in the recruitment thread. My character's a mix between Esteban and Zorro in appearance and is a gunslinging cowboy-priest ex-New Knights Templar mage.
Faraday
Dec 19 2010, 04:33 AM
So I noticed. I guess if he is a gunslinger, he'll have to keep his pistols. Anyway, I made some recommendations in the recruitment thread.

Dec 19 2010, 03:59 PM
Apologies for the delay, team 1. I just realized I don't 100% understand your plans so wanted to get clarity before I post in the IC thread again.
Do you intend to ride with the three of you in the car and drop Warden off before you cross the CAS border, or will you three ride together through the CAS border and then regroup, and then split again at the UCAS border?
And regardless, does Cruiser go through first, or follow after, in either case?
Isinghar
Dec 19 2010, 04:22 PM
Cruiser will follow behind the team, and will cross into CAS after the team. Once in CAS he will scout ahead of the team, looking for any trouble.
Thanee
Dec 19 2010, 04:45 PM
I think we will drop Warden off in safe distance from the border.

We drop Warden off a safe distance (out of sight) of the Border crossing, and he crosses on foot (first)
Then we cross, then Cruiser crosses.
Thanee
Dec 19 2010, 05:09 PM
About the border crossing... do the border guards sometimes ask for destinations? Maybe we should make something up, just in case.

Thinking about suitable destinations, like restaurants or shopping malls in the UCAS Sector (that's the one we are heading to, right).

There's a very popular soul food restaurant in the Montbello district, Mama Sarah's, that would make a good cover.

With a lack of posting by Ghost, I assumed that She would mention Mama's to him while they were 'chatting it up'.
Which is why I said that was our destination.

my post came out.. wrong.
I was more explaining why, and totally not complaining about Thanee. Other than my rabbid desire to play play play.. I think waiting for her to post is a good idea.
I'm just playing from work.. so I can pull off an awful lot of posts, when its' quiet.

I didn't think you were complaining, so I hope she doesn't either. I just don't recall ever mapping what timeframe to expect a Thanee post during. I know that the post that indicated GMT+1 was posted at 4pm my time, and midnight there.
