Likewise.

Any thoughts on making my character a little combat heavier? A set of Wires 2 maybe?

Also, TacNet anyone?

Probably wired reflexes would be your biggest gain in combat power. Even Wired 1 is decent and cheap. If you can spare the cash you may want to dump the glasses and move to cybereyes too, the ones I have for my character have pretty much everything you'd want for a bit over 9k.

TacNets are nice, but pricey and dependent on the number of sensors you can strap to your body. It might be something we look to invest in as a group after a couple runs though.

I like doubling up on contacts/glasses. 2 of each.. in case the GM ganks one.
They're fairly easy to pick up replacements for and REALLY cheap.

Feel free to go combat heavier - the mage I'm bringing to the party is far less about fireballs than he is about bringing his friends long to fight for him.

I just noticed that it looks like some people are using the 2xCHA free contacts, and some aren't (including myself). I suppose it would be good to know for certain which way we're going with that.

2xCHA free contact

I don't mind. I like the optional rule though.

Suppose I could use some more contacts. They are exceptionally expensive.

Just a low-level casual acquaintance costs the equivalent of 10,000 nuyen or a skill specialization.

BTW Finished

Decided to stay away from Wires. No good for any place with MAD or Millimeter Wave scanners. Cram should be enough to hold me over.

A rating 2 tacnet should be easy enough to swing. Just 4 sensor channels needed for +2 dice. Better than nothing.
Smartlink + imagelink + spatial recognizer + lowlight/thermal from a guncam should be enough to cover me.

Yeah, but where else can you buy a friend for life for a mere 35k? nyahnyah.gif

I certainly would like the bonus contacts, more just pointed it out as something we should all probably be doing the same way.
Saint Sithney
I'll be your friend for life for an equivalent sum biggrin.gif

Post #53 contains my finalized character. That took a lot longer than I thought it would. smile.gif

Sorry, working late last two days. Just pasted your characters into separate .docx files on my comp. Give me some time to look them over and look up some of the gadgets and qualities so I'm familiar with them, however, since I've never done this on a forum before and two of you haven't, and I think one of you hasn't played 4th edition before, I'll probably ask questions about different aspects of your chars in OCC so I can utilize it well within the context of the campaign. Other than that, I'll try to get the IC thread started this week once I've had some time to digest the PC data and so fourth. Everything looks good. Looking forward to GMing this, oh, and don't be afraid to be honest in your critiques in the OOC thread. I mean anything that helps make the campaign fun for everyone is welcome. I'll try my best to play Xanatos Speed Chess when needed.

I cleaned up my sheet and moved a few points around. Went ahead and assumed we're using the 2xCha contacts and added those. Also added a quick reference section Like Saint's to make things a little easier smile.gif. Still need to finish typing up my background, but it's been a long day and I need sleep. Should hopefully have time to finish it up this weekend though.

Have edited my character to polish some incongruous aspects in background history, and to add contacts background.

If you're open to suggestions, I've got a little build advice. Might not fit with your character concept exactly, but I'll let you know what I'm thinking on this.

A pure physad is almost never as effective as a bio-physad. For instance, if you dropped your hard-maxed agility from 7 down to 6, that would free up 25bp so you could raise your magic to 6. Then you can get one essence point worth of augmentations and still end up with the same 5 magic worth of Adept powers.

In that one Essence, you could spend 30k (6bp) to get Muscle Toner 2 and Muscle augmentation 2 raising Agility and Strength to 8 and 5 respectively. Then you'd still have another .2 essence to play with. An Attention Coprocessor would go a long way to make up for not having any Perception skill.

Final thoughts. Toughness. It costs the same in BP as raising your Body by one point and provides no greater benefit.

Thx very much for your suggestions, Saint Sithney. They are appreciated and took into consideration; I'm totally noob at SR4 and I have not yet sufficient knowledge of the mechanics of character creation in order to optimize their characteristics; for that reason, paying attention to all the advice I get, and try to follow them. Thx a lot!

Here is the final edition of Tenzin Dhargey

Very nice character now Tanzin (I'm cutting and pasting that build as it looks like a fun dual wielding sword master).

Works been hectic. Still looking over chars. Promise l'll have IC up ASAP. Please have patience. For newbies, take the time to read up on setting and game mechanics as well as those pertaining to your character.

Relax, take your time. I am one of the rookies (probably the most novice of all), and I'm doing exactly what you have suggested: reading rules, location information, historical timeline ...
Of course, with a huge desire to re-experience the wonderful feeling of being a 'runner' (been a long time, too much, from SR1) cyber.gif
