It has been a couple of years without, but my big local music festival is finally back (we are using passes bought in 2020). Which just means that from tonight through July 17th a lot of my replies will dashed off on my phone between bands. (Sorry for the lack of colors, my phone doesn't like that menu so I have to put the codes in manually which will happen sometimes but not always.)

I lost the first take of my IC to phone having logged out of the site, but got the eventually.

On Friday my wife and I caught a performer who would not be out of place in SR. He's native north american, trained as an opera singer, performing in his ancestral language, some songs based on wax cylinder recordings made with people back in 1907. Which didn't sound like my sort of act, but he was just enthralling. If you ever happen to get a chance to see Jeremy Dutcher perform I highly recommend.

A month or two ago there was a Native American singer in Seattle who was doing some solo work in resonate spaces that felt almost literally hypnotizing, like "a shadowrunner could sneak by me and I wouldn't even notice" hypnotizing. The singer rolled well on his Enthralling Performance test.

Updated AM's char-sheet. The biggest change is that AM is quickening the growth spell for some impressive physical stat upgrades. She has not yet used her physical skills since the beginning of the game so I don't envision a lot of changes but I can feel the RP potential of a complete physical makeover.

I rolled 10 hits on the spell! (21 dice for manipulation with Trouble).

Other changes are a few points in cyber combat for the ability to erase marks if she gets marked again (instead of panicking). The code slinger quality for 12 karma instead of 20 (sweet!), and logic 5-->6 with focused concentration 5-->6 to be slightly more competent at decking after what she feels is a failure with Huge.

I'm torn between High Pain Tolerance and Toughness - the latter would certainly be useful for Bobby as he needs every last bit of armor he can carry while transformed. But I'm unsure if that actually would be part of the new form.

High Pain Tolerance is a bit weaker, but also a good fit...

What's the concern, Jack? A mechanical one or a narrative one?

Gilga, I read that 10 net hits would give AM +3 to her physical attributes, but I'm seeing +4 on the sheet. Are you reading it differently?

Evidently I never spent my Chapter 8 karma. I need to get on that! I think a lot of it was being converted to nuyen for upgraded cyber.

Mechanical - I'm not sure if Toughness should translate to a different body.

It's a quality you pay karma for, so I don't see why not. I would say go for it.

It seems like you are right, I was under the impression that we round up but it does not actually says that in the spell description. So I am uncertain why I had that impression. I change the sheet.

+3 to four attributes from one spell is a pretty good spell!

Yeap, I was thinking about Mato suddenly receiving his augmentations when I decided on that path. I don't see the spell being very useful considering the game up until now, but I feel like it opens an interesting direction for character growth.

For the record, Mato's attributes won't really change due to cyber. He'll get some new toys, like cyberear upgrades, but his numbers are mostly staying the same. I'll spend some karma on Logic 4 but that's about it.

Yeah, that's well within the rules if you want to upsize. That's a big growth spurt though.

That's one of the funny things for me to think about the Sixth World. Sure, there's leonization and extensive body sculpting and someone could radically transform themselves over a weekend... or you can cast a spell and immediately go from smol to swole. Someone could look mostly the same but somehow completely different the next time you see them.

So, how much time is going to go by until the next mission? I'm planning my next initiation, but don't know if I can get the whole month necessary for that.

A few weeks ago i got Tamarind finished through initial character creation (and with some of the "in play" sorted). Of course then I've thought of a few things to tweak, but I should have her reviewable and good to go by Tuesday.

Current IC date is Friday, February 10, 2079.

Next Interlude (to introduce Tamarind) will be the following week. I might do Tuesday, February 14th to have it be on Valentine's Day for no reason.

The date of the next Chapter is up to gilga. I'm fine with it being a month later. If we ignore the gap between Chapter 1 and 2 (Lorebane's chapters) then we've basically had three advancements of 2 weeks and three advancements of 4 weeks. In other words, skipping forward a month is entirely reasonable. It would also be a convenient time for Mato to get his new cyber and to recover from the implantation surgery.

I'll wait for gilga's confirmation, but I'll go for the Masking initiation then.
