Yeah. If I didn't have such a firm mental image of Billy in my head (despite none of the games I've tried to get him into going very far), I'd probably have swapped him over to human just to cut down on that ratio...but, oh well.

Not for

Or maybe
THIS.
Thats Esperanza from the Dark Horse comic "The Tenth" but its the closest thing I can find.

See, that sentence made sense until you put the word "trilogy" there at the end of it. I liked The Matrix, too. Just not, y'know, the sequels.

That's the point though. I liked all three of the movies. I think the Brothers did a great job of making each movie link to the previous, but not be a cookie cutter of the previous. I think too much adieu is given to the fact that the first was a smashingly brilliant and unique adventure that no sequel could ever live up to. But that's just me.

For me, it wasn't so much that the sequels didn't live up to it, as that they just got weirder and weirder and expected you to keep paying attention. All I was after, personally, was more cool ass-kickery. Instead (much like, for instance, Ghost in the Shell), I kept getting philosophy lessons and stuff.

I'm doing my best to keep from doing the same, trust me. I really dig Billy (which is half the reason I keep giving SR4 a shot), and in addition to having fun just posting with him, I'm eager to do something with him, and see if I made a decent character or not. Plus work's been slow lately (which is why I'm able to post from midnight on, like I do) so I'm always idly checking and rechecking DS to see if there's anything for me to respond to.

For clarification's sake that latest IC post isn't
me thinking Billy won't be any help, so no one panic and write me off as worthless. I read over the recruitment stuff and saw full well what I was signing up for.

Sorry if I'm a little hit or miss. Life is busy right now (getting married in two weeks) but I'm trying to keep up...
Which brings me to my next point. Two weeks from now I might be on a short hiatus. I will try to stay up to date, but I'll be in Puerto Rico so I'm not sure about internet access. If the resort has internet, I should be good to go. If not, I'm fine with Fenris jumping into my character wherever she might be needed so long as it benefits the group and keeps the game moving.
Update: the resort has internet access in all rooms. I should be good to go...
As for the lack of IC posts: we could discuss our different roles and abilities IC if you want. Try to figure out who has what to contribute. I'm currious about the other characters in the group, but I know some people don't like to share stats, abilities, etc....

Djinni - Sorry I didn't answer your question earlier. On a critical glitch, something goes horribly wrong (they say injurious or life-threatening, but I assume that depends on the situation)
I assume that was you breaking your commlink?
Fenris
Jun 23 2007, 07:13 PM
Critias - Billy knows that the area in the Redmond Barrens is currently under the auspices of the newly revitalized Halloweeners. They've received a bump in notoriety recently, after almost burning down a local clinic and tangling with the Star for the last several weeks. The Star got in a few good licks, arresting or killing almost 2 dozen of the gangers, but have 15 hospitalized officers, 5 burned out patrol cars, 3 destroyed drones, and 1 burned down branch office to show for it.
In regards to the underworld entity that runs the area, the last decade has seen some pretty major upheavals. In terms of larger entities, the Vory v Zakov have staked out that section of the Barrens. Most of the gangs operating in that area pay respects in some form to them.

Another set of knowledge skill checks are die rolls #3 and #4 on the linked page. Same set of skills, this time applying them to our new safehouse. Being in Octagon Triad turf would make me happy in my tummy (and would kind of make sense, if Lucky's calling in favors from the Octagon's Red Pole), but if we're
not I'm hoping Billy will at least know who to look out for when he's walkin' down the street.

Fenris: here are a few perception rolls for Vertigo's look around. Let me know if you need more.
LinkAlso a question about contacts: do you want to role play them or should we just RP their interactions in our narratives?
I'd like to contact Lean Gefforey about possible work for the group.
Fenris
Jun 25 2007, 06:19 PM
Critias - Billy knows that the Ragers are the major threat down by the docks. If you're a human, don't be out after dark, and don't be an elf that looks like a human.
From a larger perspective, the Bigio family and the Yakuza fought over Tacoma for a long time. Several years, in fact, from about 2062 to 2066. There was a series of skirmishes, blown up dock buildings, etc. until a final escalating series of actions where shadowrunners were brought in basically as mercenaries. The tussel ended with the Yakuza retreating to other districts of the 'plex, and the Bigio family in control of Tacoma and the docks.

Method - The warehouse is pretty questionable from a security standpoint. There's a row of windows about 3 stories up that circle the main open area of the warehouse, just above the catwalk. The windows are mostly busted out and boarded up with wood that looks like broken up pallets.
There are 3 exits: 1 large cargo door about 3 meters tall and 5 meters wide, operated by an automatic/manual winch near the door, and 2 normal sized entrances, one near the cargo door, one in the back leading out of the offices.
There are several small piles of rubble scattered around the main floor, likely leftover shipping crates and materials, and of course the offices. These constitute basically the only places to hide in the warehouse.
Security system is pretty much non-existent.
As for contacts, it's up to you. If it's a well known contact and you know the personality well and want to RP it, that's fine. Otherwise, I'm always happy to make up personalities for contacts based on the information I have

@Fenris: At this point in the game, I think it would serve the story better if you took the reins. I was thinking that Lean Geoffrey (my English fixer/fence) might be a good source of revenue for the group, but I wasn't sure if you had some other ideas in store for us. so if you can use him he's yours. If you had other ideas in mind, though, I will wait and enjoy.
Also, another quick question while we are waiting for BishopMcQ:
At the start of the thread you wrote that you will state what you want to accomplish each week (which I think is a great idea BTW). What did you want to cover in week 2? Just wondering because I will be very busy later in the week and may not be able to post much.
Thanks man (or woman?
