Lady Door
About to open her mouth and thank Daylin for his compliment, Hal just sighs when he ducks through the open door.
Trying to get know him is damn near impossible. Sometimes I feel like he's hiding or running... wish he could trust me... course I'm one to talk. If he knew I'd been booted from the Academy I wonder if he would still listen to a word I had to say.
Shrugging, Hal just turns back to the control panel, doublechecking that the hyperspace jump was going smoothly. Soon... bored with the continual streak of stars Hal heads back towards the crew quarters.
I suppose I should see what I can do about getting these passengers to pay their way.
NerfHerder
Replaying the last 48 hours was almost physically painful for O'olan. His quarry escaped, his ship destroyed and worst of all with the loss of both came a major loss of honor. The honorific use of his family name Delneb, that he had been allowing himself use of the past two years was now stripped, reverting back to the most generic self-reference of Gand. Denoting no personal honor. O'olan was angry, hadn't he performed all the ceremonies correctly? Done the proper meditations to find the truth of his fugitive? How had the teachings failed him, they never had before? The Findsman clan he belonged to was the most honorable clan on the Gand homeworld. Known for only taking the most dangerous of criminals, the murderers, slavers, and stim pusher and making the galaxy safer for it. They had suffered under Imperial rule, refusing to take bounties they did not deem just. But that had changed when the New Republic came to power.

The teachings did not fail me, I failed the teachings. I did not listen well enough to what was presented, that is the only explanation. I must find a quiet place to meditate and find what I have missed.

Ndding to Rand (a strange Human affectation he picked up somewhere), O'olan stands and goes in search of a quiet corner of the ship to reflect.
Ophis
Rand returns O'olan's nod and leans back in his chair balancing it against the wall. The closes his eyes and starts to snooze.

After satisfying himself that the engines are still in good condition, Daylin informs the Capt that he'll be retiring to quarters for a while. He goes in to his quarters and locks the door.

It'd be too obvious to start wearing a blaster now. No bounties on my head. Can't be to sure about these hnters though. Anyone that'll take the law in exchange for Imperial credits ...

His mind is busy , full of turmoil, doubt, conflict. Plans for how to do away wit te hunters have already crossed his mind more than once, and angrily been pushed aside.

Can't make assumptions. Can't live in Fear. Calm ... calm.

Again Daylin sits in the meditation position. He focuses on the sounds of the ship's engines, the white noise to block out all others. He focuses himself, concentrating, trying to find peace within his mind.

[ Spoiler ]

Having finally managed to Empty his find of all thought and feeling, Daylin sits, finally at peace within himself. He concentrates on his place within the Force, and his own body, and feels the Force grow within him.
Ophis
A few minutes of sleep is all Rand gets. He stands up stretching his neck to remove the crick and wanders out of the galley. Almost be accident his feet lead towards the cockpit. He turns a corner almost bumping into Hal as she leaves it. He steps back enough to to not bump her, but not to far. His eyes glint with a playful light.

Hi, I was wandering about a couple of things. One, what can I do to cover the inconvenience of having me aboard, and secondly what are the sleeping arrangements? Do I get my own or do I have to share?

His tone is friendly but laced with implication.
Lady Door
Hal looks up from her datapad, surprised at the sudden bump. Seeing Rand, she steps back but makes no move to pass him.
We have a small ship, but I'm sure we can figure out something. As for compensation, ... we can discuss it over dinner, maybe?
Ophis
Just the two of us?
Lady Door
Hal smiles. Less distractions that way... allow us to really get to the heart of the matter, don't you think?
Ophis
Rand grins, Seems for the best, we should get on with it immediately. I'm not sure where anything is, lets start with a tour.

Rand's grin makes it obvious where he thinks the 'tour' should start.
Lady Door
Hal's eyes go wide, suprised by Rand's direct approach.
All right, a tour it is. Sliding her datapad into her pocket, Hal turns down the nearest corridor heading for the crew compartments.
These are Daylin's quarters. Hal motions towards a closed door in the hallway. ... and these are our guest quarters. Unfortunately, there's only room for three bunks... I'm not sure what we're going to do with our Wookie friend. Hal steps into the guestroom and smiles. You can stow your things in here if you'd like.
Ophis
Rand follows Hal into the room, Well I'm pretty much carrying everything I own. Other than the swoop in the entry bay that is.

He grins, running fingers through his hair, seemingly unsure on his next step.

You're certainly the cutest freighter captain I've ever flown with.

That's no lie, but can I trust her? Think with something other than your groin Rand! Oh screw it.

Look, if there's a problem just say, but I'm not exactly a man of words, more actions really.[/salmon]

With that Rand quickly leans in and kisses Hal on the lips.
Lady Door
For a moment, Hal simply stands stunned then slowly melts into the kiss. Finally, she pulls away, somewhat reluctantly. She smiles up at him impishly.
You know, this doesn't change anything... you still owe me for passage.
Ophis
Rand grins I'm sure we can come to some sort of arrangement

He leans in to kiss Hal again.
Lady Door
Hal smiles and returns the kiss, motioning towards the door sensors for the door to close.

The next several days pass in various degrees of boredom, frustration, or productiveness, depending on the attitude of the individual.

About one day out from Dantooine, the ship lurches back to realspace and klaxons begin blaring.
Ophis
Rand looks up from his swoop, where he is finishing off a cleaning it. All while he's been thinking about how pleasantly this voyage is turning out.

This is not going how I expected, Hal's great and so is Daylin when he isn't hiding in his room. It's been to long since I've had, say it Rand, friends. Maybe a little more than a friend in Hal's case, she's wonderful, a girl who doesn't glaze out when I talk mechanics. I just hope that Gand doesn't have my name on a warrant list. I should tell Hal about that. She should know. But I can't be sure how she'll take it. Blast it Rand just leave it for now.

The Klaxons sound, dragging Rand from his thoughts.

What the? This can't be good.

Rand sprints towards the cockpit hoping to find Hal and what's going on.
fistandantilus4.0
Dropping out of hyperspace has never been good for Daylin's stomach. Just doesn't settle well. So he's not in the best of moods when he runs to the cockpit, and crashes into Rand.

Out of the way boy! Move before we're space paste!

He rushes into the cockpit to see what's happening.
Lady Door
... it's not smart, Hal. Getting involved with a passenger?! What were you thinking? Who knows what kind of nonsense he could be involved in, what he could be bringing to the 'Hawk... which reminds me... suppose I should be getting used to calling it something different... and for the love of ... if Daylin keeps hiding in his room I'm going to remove his door. Hal's thoughts are disrupted by the sudden return to realspace and the shrill blare of the klaxons.
Sitting bolt upright, Hal switches the ship back on to manual control and starts searching the sensor displays for the reason for the alarm.
Throwing the switch on the comm unit, Hal calls for Daylin.
D! I need you on deck, now!... Everyone else, prepare for... well, anything!
ludomastro
Roll any/all appropriate skills.
Ophis
Rand suppresses violent instincts as Daylin bumps him.
Where do you want me Captain?

For the first time in days Rand's tone to Hal isn't playful, it's business like.

Rand shifts to look out the canopy.

Over the past several days O'olan has spent much of his time meditating and performing the Findsman Ceremonies to help locate the fugitive Ma'Nosh. The klaxons blaring wake him from a sound sleep (the only sleep he's taken in the last week) Grabbing his gun belt and buckling it on he rushes twards the cockpit to see what is going on.

Hope this isn't more Imperial bastards over extending their reach, I've heard they've been doing that a lot as of late. The last thing this ship needs is to have been ID'd, I don't know if my guild still holds any sway with the Imps, but I'll try to use whatever pull I may have if it comes down to it.

NerfHerder
Wow, that is big...
fistandantilus4.0
That pulled us out?!

Daylin quickly scans the ship for three things:
If it has a gravity well generator
an ID transponderof any type
Runs it's profile against the ship's computer looking for a type match to see what kind of ship it is, and if it's known to be used by any particular group.
NerfHerder
... not big enough to pull us out of hyperspace though.

Daylin
[ Spoiler ]
Lady Door
You've GOT to be kidding me... Hal stares openmouthed at the derelict Capitol ship then turns to Daylin, a mercenary gleam in her eye.
Soo... how much do you think we could salvage off of it?
fistandantilus4.0
Daylin looks at it for a moment, trying to wriggle loose a memory.

First we have to see if it is salvageable. We have to find out what it's doing out here.

Run a focused scan looking for power sources, and also specifically for any \thing that could be a gravity well generaotr. Also look for any signs of a distress beacon.

NerfHerder
Well, it would be your right Captain, I beleive the finder of a derelict vessel has salvage rights. After filling out the proper forms of course. Any signs of life aboard?
Lady Door
proper forms of paperwork... pfft. Hal shoots the Gand a curious/annoyed look and goes back to looking out the window at the ship.
Well... so what do we need to do, D?
Please don't let there be signs of life, please don't let there be signs of life... ooh.. what if there's bodies? Ew. I'll send D over first.
fistandantilus4.0
Not answering right away, Daylin concentrates, focusing his mind on his memory, trying to bring up any ghost of his past that would spark the memory.

[ Spoiler ]
Lady Door
Watching Daylin zone out, Hal suddenly feels the hair on the back of her neck stand up.
It's freaking haunted! I know it!

Daylin

[ Spoiler ]
NerfHerder
Hmm, there may be more to this old man than first appearances show. It surprises me how often I still make snap judgements, an extremely bad habit...
fistandantilus4.0
It's a Dural-class freighter. They hauled loads for planet colonization for the Old Republic some 300 years ago. Could be outdated farming equipment. Could be old food. Could be anything on there really.

Either way, it's an old ship. No way anyone living would have salvage rights by now. You could just as well sell it to a musuem as a scrap yard.

Daylin actually feels a tinge of regret at turning such a relic in to credits. Some people have no respect for vintage any more.
Lady Door
Hal feels no such twinge.
How much money do you think a museum would pay for it? Her smile is eager.
NerfHerder
I have the feeling you won't hurt for money Captain. How is the hull integrity Daylin? Can we go take a look inside, I'm intrigued.
Ophis
Rand misses the ship at first, then realising where everyone else is looking, he looks it over, whistling between his teeth.

What's the chance of something unpleasent being on board? You here hear nasty stories from Spacers. It would be almost a shame to sell that thing, she's a beauty, just think of how much cargo you could carry. A captain could be honest and still turn a profit. Then again it's got worth a whole pile of credits.
fistandantilus4.0
"Unpleasant" plenty good. Something stopped her after all. Anything living though I doubt. Unless some pirates are using it for a base, and shielding it from sensors. A lot of larger ships can haul an asteroid into a spacing lane to force ships out of hyperspace, then jump them. It's a pretty common tactic though, so people usually know how to react. Rand, why don't you get in to that turret again while I do some more detailed scanning. I want to see if there's any power on there at all, or signs of life.

using a focused scan, starting on the engines and working all the way to the front, then back again, Daylin takes some time to scan the entire ship thoroughly.
ludomastro
He doesn't find anything.
Ophis
On it sir!

With a grin and a wry salute Rand heads down into the turret settling in, and getting everything operative.

Ready to rock, captain.
fistandantilus4.0
Sir? Kids

I suggest we tred carefully Captain. Something stopped this ship. And if we're to properly investigate, we'll all have to go over. It's a big ship.

Ophis
Does the ship have a docking bay? It's quite a bit larger than us right? I can never get the scale out here...
fistandantilus4.0
Well if it's got no power, we'll have to manually hook up to it, and see if we can restore power before opening a bay door. We have four suits on board, so assuming they fit, the Captain, you, our Gand friend here, and myself can all go over, leaving the wookie and the droid to watch over things on the Hawk. Which makes sense really. If this were a trap, I'd rather have the most fearsome guard available covering our rears to make sure no one tries to steal our ship out from under us.

That and wookies are very honorable, at least from my experiences. If she gives her word that she'll guard our ship for us ,I doubt even her companion could talk her out of it. And it seperates them if they do inted to do us harm.

We'd need some basic tools and some weapons just in case. The sensors dont' show any life signs, but there are ways to shield that. It shouldn't be hard to find the engineering bay, so we could go there first, see what we can do about restoring power, then check the bridge and the ship's logs.

What do you think Captain?

Lady Door
The thought of leaving the 'Hawk with strangers bites at Hal, but the lure of the strange capitol ship is stronger.
Good plan, D. Why don't you go check our gear. See what we have that can work with our passengers. Rand, help Daylin. I'll go talk to our Wookie friend and see what ... it has to say. Hal stumbles for a moment over the proper pronoun for the Wookie. How do you tell if they're male or female anyway? I mean, you don't want to insult something that can rip off your arms and beat you with them... huh. I'll have to ask D. later.
fistandantilus4.0
Datlin nods and goes to prep the suits. On the way over, he grabs some necessities from his cabin. Namely his blaster and belt, and an old heirloom he's rarely had to use, and hopes he doesn't have to today. This he placely discreetly inside his coveralls on the inside belt.
