I'm trying to figure out what a system looks like in 4th ed for hacking purposes... I mean... I know what a commlink is... But I can't imagine just using a commlink to supplant a physical server type of equipment. I mean a Blackberry is just not the same thing as a Quad dual core processor SQL server running Cisco Secure Agent, AV, etc...

I keep looking through the Shadowrun Missions to see if I can find some detailed systems... I mean things like a research complex similar to what was in Silver Angel. I'd guess there would be multiple systems (Security, File Storage, etc, plus the Ultra secret one that you can only get into by penetrating deeply into the facility), but as I read them, they're all basically wirelessly connected directly to the matrix. Which makes me wonder... are these systems on the matrix all the time now? And if so, why isn't there a firewall system serving as a chokepoint/gateway between the internal corporate network and the external matrix?

I know that knasser has some of this kind of stuff linked in his signature.

Thanks for the link. People might wonder why it suddenly stopped after Example 3 and hasn't been updated. It's because the remote access solution turned out to be very brief and unnecessary so I haven't bothered with it until I do a complete upload, and because example 5 ballooned into a much bigger project which I shall hopefully be posting shortly.
