I watched it last night, and I think they packed a lot more into young Miss Summers than just "Both legs, one arm, one eye and one ear"

Here's what I picked up on.
Replaced 2 legs with synthetic cyber, strength and agility enhancement
Replaced 1 arm with synthetic cyber, strength enhancement
Replaced 1 eye with cyber, including image link, low light vision, vision enhancement, magnification, smartlink (possibly)
Replaced 1 ear with audio enhancement, select sound filter, and spatial recognizer
Symbiotes, called Anthrocytes in the show.
Now on to the "I think this was heavily hinted at" stuff.

Wired reflexes, move by wire, or similar...Could a normal person run at 55 mph through a forest, dodging trees, jumping logs, dodging branches pretty much effortlessly?
Orientation system...taken to secret Delta clinic out in the boonies and finds her way back home in time for dinner
Either Reflex recorder or skillwires in Unarmed Combat (Cyber)
Possibly bone lacing near arm and leg implants, so she can't rip them out of socket
Encephalon or, more likely, Tactical Computer
Ultrasound sight/hearing was also hinted at.

All of this would be delta grade, of course, to make it up to the $50 million dollar mark quoted in the show.

I'm sure this list will grow as the show goes on and the producers want Jaime to do more amazing stuff.

...I for one can't believe the revived the series until I saw the ad during Sunday Night Football. Yep the media is grasping alright. What next, another A-Team or Charlie's Angels? Heck I hear someone is thinking of remaking the Original Star Trek as a new movie for release next year, yeah, the one with Kirk, Spock, & Bones, all played by new actors. Supposedly they are in pre production phase.

Nobody's had any imagination for years, or at least the studios don't there are a lot of imaginative ideas out there, but the studios want to play it safe and go with what is known.

We can probably expect a new night rider (despite the 2 failed attempts to revive the franchise) and probably a new airwolf . . . .

Mind you, with current CGI they could be sweet, the originals look a bit dated these days

It costs Studios too much money for Imagination. Just look at all the Reality Shows now on almost every network.

Yes the new Star Trek movie is coming yes it is about a young Spock & Kirk & company.

The actor playing Sylar on Heros is going to be Spock.

Ok so you want new can't say I ever saw anything like Eureka before and Showtime has a good one Dexter.

Dexter if you don't know is a show about a Miami forensics cop who is a serial killer.

Speaking of Heros that seems new to a point and we just had Burn Notice. Another new show coming on CW is Reaper (starts Tues.) on his 18th birthday a guy finds out his parents sold his soul to the devil and now he has to catch escapees from hell with a dust buster.

Also on Showtime there is Weeds dad dies mom sells pot to make ends meet caused the death/arrest of other dealers was married seceretly to a DEA agent who got killed it's a laugh riot.

Then there is Californication with the X files guy David Ducovney (sp?) I wrote a book it became a movie my life sucks story.

There are other shows I like but not really too new Bones, Prison Break, The Unit.

Anyway just somethings to look at maybe you've seen all this type of stuff but I haven't so I'll watch and enjoy.

And this is why I hardly watch TV anymore...

Two major movie studios have admitted that their explicit policy is to not greenlight any movie that is not a remake or a sequel. There's creativity in CGI and special effects, but officially all creativity is in advertising and marketing, not production.

Which studios said that so explicitly?

The only tv programs I consider worthwile viewing are on History, History International, and occaisionally Discovery and National Geographic. But I admit I would like to see a remake of the old Voyager series from the early 80's.

I would add TLC, Food Network, and Military, at least sometimes.

Note that when studios *do* come up with a new idea, it gets cancelled before it can even get going. Firefly, anyone?

Also watched TLC, Discovery, Discovery Wings (Wings of the Red Star was pretty cool), History (both), Comedy Channel (primarily for BattleBots) Sci Fi & Oxygen (Xena).

Cartoon Channel was good when they still aired a lot of the older stuff. Of course Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Samurai Jack were primo. However what I have seen as of late is pretty disappointing for a lot of programmes seem crudely done. (both art and writing wise) Maybe It's the current trend in animation, I don't know, but it really doesn't do much for me.

...and Harlan Ellison was right all along.

Which tends to make the issue moot, if you're going to be that picky about what "is" or "isn't" original.

Survivorman on Discovery is a good show that I've started watching lately, other than that, I mostly watch reruns.
A few things i would like to see:

A ninth season of Red Dwarf.
A new Star Trek series that doesn't suck.
Shows on Cartoon Network that aren't total crap, especially Adult Swim.

Television viewers and studios are afraid of new things. New things generally do not mean profitable. Old tried and true ideas do make money, and what people expect and like.

One problem first they have to make the new movie not suck.

Either that or we all need to watch the movie reguardless of our likeing it.

I say this as it is my understanding from what I have read that at this time they are pushing the big old reset button to try to revitalize the series so that hopefully it'll run for another 40 years.

So first up is a retelling of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty and the rest. the cast so far is this:
Zachary Quinto ~ Spock
Zoe Saldana ~ Nyota Uhura
Anton Yelchin ~ Pavel Checkov
Leonard Nimoy ~ Spock

Again what I read is this is the first mission for Kirk and crew.

Rumor has it Nimoy and Shatner will cameo as starfleet brass deciding to put Kirk in charge of the Enterprise with the theory that Spock will keep him true to starfleets goals.

That's all I have read so far so we'll just have to wait and see if it'll be any good.

And when they arrive, there's always someone waiting for them.

Cool show. It definitely looks like it has potential, based on the first episode.

I liked it I'd have to say Nanites rather than Symboites as they seemes to be going the tech route rather than bio for 90% of what they did to her.
