Manifest Alchera?

QUOTE
this incredible picture was captured by a flickr user in california whilst at work. a fog descended just as the sun set behind the building in shot. the result - one of the spookiest photographs of a building you’ll ever witness.

A bunch of interesting architectural or building related illusions and photographic effects popped up on digg, but this one, I thought was particularly cool.

Be nice prop for a game.

Why does this remind me of Kingdom Hospital?

I am so yoinking this for my game...
Kyoto Kid
...here is a structure I yoinked for the SSID (Serbian State Intelligence Directive) Centre in Beograd (sans the Micky D's sign of course) for my RiS campaign.

...pretty fitting for a "spook" organisation's HQ.

AT&T Long Lines Tower

doubly so given that the building belongs to "ma bell"...

as for the original post, sunlight reflecting of a building at a hazy morning or afternoon?
Kyoto Kid
...actually it looks more like it is caused by the building's interior lights being refracted by the fog.

However, early one morning while coming across the Burnside Bridge on my way to work (Portland OR) I did see a similar effect that was caused by sunlight reflecting off of "Big Pink" (the local nickname for the 40 storey BankCorp tower in Portland which is sheathed in pink mirrored glass).

Ah, Big Pink. 43 floors, KK. Worked there for a few years, on the top floor, and I know, since I counted every step one time. Sucked when I got locked in the stairwell on the top floor and had to walk down to the first floor before I found an unlocked door. Any optical illusions come from the fact that someone actually built a PINK highrise (and whoever it was must have been smokin' something).

Great view, though. wink.gif

...Ouch. The most teps I ever walked was in the Washington Monument in DC.

Did go up to the top of BP once, & agree, nice view. Almost could see my house from there.

...as to the colour, this is P'Town & back then I think everyone seemed to be smoking, drinking, or eating something "odd". grinbig.gif

@Ophis: I can imagine.... grinbig.gif

BTW:

Big Pink

...not the best view but the best colour balance.
Ophis
Not as pink as I'd hoped...

Kyoto Kid
...looks more so when viewed live. That was the best photo I could find, in some it looks more tan than pink.
Tiger Eyes
Here's a slightly better picture. At least it gives a better idea of the pink.

Kyoto Kid
...definitely better.
