Full Version: Throwing large things

So more then once in past few months the question of "how far can I throw it/him" has come up. Some fuzzy multiplication math based on the weight of a knife and its range table is our current basis for finding a solution. Anyone else have a system for this?

Snap rulings off the top of my head:
Small object: treat as non-aerodynamic grenade, use throwing skill.
large object: unless there's some kind of athletic skill or a reason their character is a caber-tossing champion, just roll strength. I'd be generous and skip the -1 for defaulting, just 'cause I'm fast and loose like that. 1 meter per hit.
character: str+unarmed combat, opposed normally, 1 meter per net hit. That's probably a little unrealistically far, but it's fun.

Keep it simple; a realistic solution will just get in the way of the fun. Don't discourage their creativity with needlessly complex rulings.
