Anyone here that could give me some specs on number 20? (Savalette Penetrator - large-caliber armor-piercing weapon for close range combat).

In the words of "House of Leaves", #20: DNE.
That is to say the penetrator has never appeared in any shadowrun rulebook that I am aware of, and is most likely a custom variant of an existing weapon.

The same is true of the Winchester Widow Maker, as far as I know. Although it may have appeared in the Cannon Companion. My memory of that book is a bit rusty.

@Moon-Hawk: Thats what I thought too in the first place, but then if you see the title of the picture: Pistols & Stuff. Picture #2 is dedicated to Rifels & Stuff ... It has to be a heavy pistol ...

Hmm I said it has to be a heavy pistol ... Of course it could also be & stuff. Maybe it is something like the "Altmayr SP" (Target: Germany).

As a suggestion, this is fairly similar to a gun Orient cooked up. I suggest you chop the damage down to 6 or 7S, and then give it Heavy Pistol ranges. Also, make the ammo '6m'.

Make it more in line with a sporting rifle than a sniper rifle. Especially since a lot of the '13' in '13S' comes from barrel length.

the gun does 13S DAMAGE IN A SINGLE BULLET?
the Guardian did 12S in a full Burst of 3 Rounds . .
also if it's got the same range as an SMG then it pretty much IS an SMG i'd say O.o
heck, make it like the bigger guardian, 10M Damage and Burst Fire Mode available and you're all set . .

Does is automatically break your wrist when you fire it? Makes me think of the JA2 "Big Bertha" handguns using 7.62 NATO cartridges. In 1.13 they just changed those to automags with smaller cartrdiges so as not to be so wacky. I think they changed into .50 beowulf or something.

as i said, tone it down to doing 10M damage and give it BF Mode and use Shotgun Rules for Recoil and you're pretty much close to how it should be . .
probably the same thing that can be achieved by sawing off the barrell of an Franchi Spas-22 O.o

Honestly, if you really, really wanted to, you could pay someone to make you a custom handgun (revolver) that fired 7.62 rounds.

You'd only fire it once and I swear I want the video of someone trying it.

But the engineering can be done. Ultimately, it's not that bigger, better and badder weapons can't be designed - the human is the weak link in the practical deployment and use.

Now, fast-forward to a world where 9 foot trolls lift weights to get stronger. Throw in cybernetic augments.

The inherent limitations have been tweaked out and designing a weapon to test the physical limitations the shooter will also increase substantially.

Didn't see if anyone else already replied to this, but just because something is a 7.62mm round doesn't mean it's the same kind that's used as the standard for NATO battle rifles/machine guns, etc.

.32 ACP is a 7.65mm caliber. So is .32 Long Colt, etc. There are bazillions of guns chambered for 7.62mm and above.

Keep in mind that a 7.63x25mm cartridge (Mauser pistol) isn't going to be as effective as a 7.62x51mm cartridge (M60 GPMG, Winchester lever-action).

I think everyone's overlooking the BIG drawback of the Savalette Guardian--as originally presented inf FoF, it could fire a Burst in a complex action. If you attached that same stipulation to the Penetrator, it would go a LONG way toward balancing out an insane damage code. I'm not saying the gun isn't overpowered or anything, just that there's other ways to fix it, too.
