There is an ork language, Or'zet. But it isn't translated till 2060 and isn't actually taught to anyone until 2061. Also, only orks and trolls have the jaw structure to speak it correctly, anyone else suffers a +2 TN mod to speaking it correctly. So at char creation, it isn't available. Now if somehow your char gets down to San Fran and learns it from a fugative Orkland Community Center researcher later then you'd be in luck. But thats a whole adventure in and of itself.

Regarding the racial tensions, I'm up for you playing him however you want and seeing what happens... if things start getting out of hand though don't be surprised by some GM intervention.
Shadow
One of th ecommunications devices comes with encryption at its level, the mcro transciever maybe? I forget which on it is, but its worth it. A net opertes at the encryption of it's lowest member. Jester uses a E4 to talk to his drones and on his own personal system, so everyone try to make sure you have at least enryption 4.
fazzamar
None of the communication devices or communication headware in BBB (is it still referred to by BBB even though it's 3rd edition?) are listed with encryption, unless I'm really over looking it.
thegreatbuddha
The racial tensions aren't really necessary on my part. Anti-elven sentiments and the proximity of Tir Tairngire just made it the easiest path to Seattle. If anyoen has alternate ideas, I'm open to them.

It's also not necessarily racism against elves. More like bigotry towards the nations of Tir na Og and Tir Tairngire. Plain old UGE elves are, while not really BFF material, are tolerable.

That'd prolly work pretty good.

Shadow:Also, I found what you were thinking of, Personal Communication Unit (cc.55) comes with encryption
thegreatbuddha
OK. I'm going to be pretty busy with work, school, and Easter stuff this weekend, but I should have a fleshed-out background and character sheet ready by Monday.
Chance359
How about I have to make a quickness test to get the wrist tracks to work? I was going to have the do 6L with 6 round clips to keep it from being to unbalanced.

Well if you're handcuffed or something similar then I can't imagine how a wrist slide would be able to work... any other time that movement is restricted due to small space we can go with a quickness test. The 6L with 6 round clips is actually worse than the Steyr TMPs I suggested.

Steyr TMP Conceal:9 Ammu:30c Mode:SA/BF/FA Damage:6L Weight:2 Cost:900 Accessories:None Availability:8/48hrs Street Index:2 Book Page:cc.(18)
Glyph
Ice Queen wouldn't have any problems with elves whatsoever - she doesn't like the Tirs, politically, and that's not even a major facet of her personality, just one of her many opinions.
Chance359
The whole pistols on wrist tracks thing is an image I have in my mind. It's not about finding a good weapon for general use.
fazzamar
I don't have a problem with you using a 6 clip, FA, 6L pistol on arm slides. I was just suggesting a 30 round, FA, 6L machine pistol on arm slides. Although, now that you mention it, the smaller 6 round (which I would imagine has a concealability of around 7 or cool.gif would be better suited to hiding up a sleeve.. anyway.. here's the stats I came up with...
Glock 9mm Subcompact Conceal:8 Ammo:6c Mode:SA/FA Damage:6L Weight:1 Cost:¥650 Notes:The modification made to the gun does not include BF mode. Firing in FA requires a Complex action as per standard rules.

Sound fair? I gave it the concealability of a hold-out pistol but with FA and light pistol damage.
Kliko
The comm-gear you're looking for is the personal comm unit from cc p.55

Cheers,

Kliko
Chance359
I'm fine with that pistol. Since per standard SR3 rules you can only fire 1 weapon full auto at a time, I'll probably put it on the left wrist.

Now if it's more fitting to your character you can have 2 glocks that fire sa/bf only but the bf requires a complex action. That would make it so you could fire both guns at once...
fazzamar
After checking there's no rule preventing firing 2 weapons at full auto at the same time. The rules in CC just prevent firing one weapon BF or SA while firing another weapon at FA. (cc.94)
Chance359
Fazzamar you should have my initial submission by monday.
fazzamar
I'm looking forward to it.
Tabula Rasa
I should have my character ready around Sunday or Monday depending on how fast I can finish my paper.

"Hoi, Slim Jim! What's the word on the street?" the skinny man behind the counter asked. "Not much, Dave. Just looking for some place to be and something to do to get me some cred." answered the even more slender man walking into the computer store. His stringy black hair, tied into a ponytail today, swung around the tops of his shoulders as he looked at a Nakatomi reality filter inside the case. Maybe someday.

Slim Jim's black leather pants creaked as he walked out the door, his Greatcoat swishing in the breeze off of the sound. He cast a wary eye at the gangers on the corner as he walked down the street. Not much trouble happening from them that he couldn't handle if he needed to. He was glad he got that upgrade on his hand razors a few weeks ago, they're so much sharper now that they almost feel like they're dikoted. But if things got really out of hand, his Ingram Smartgun could really even the odds fast.

Heading back to his doss, or rather the doss belonging to the non-existent "Jim Brady", Jim threw his coat over towards a chair and pulled up to his most valuable asset, his Sony Cyberdeck. Connecting the cable from the deck to the datajack in the back of his skull, he closed his eyes and watched the simsense reality of the Matrix manifest around him. Standing next to the small pyramid icon of his logon point, he stood a moment and took a quick check on his persona. Online at last, he looked like a standard human with what looked like metallic black boots and pants, a bright red shirt with some kind of gold logo on the left breast and a plain face, basically purple eyes and a slit for a mouth.

"Red Shirt, online and reporting for duty." he vocalized to no one in particular. Flying off to the border of the LTG, he dived in to the grid.

I've finished the crunchy bits, but I'm still finishing the background details. Also, since I'm using the NSRCG, is it acceptable if I PM you the html or xml file, or would you like me to convert it and post it as plain text?

If you would, please email me the .sr3 and .rtf in addition to the html export. I don't care for the xml exports, I feel the html looks nicer. hollis21(at)gmail(dot)com

Can you post a link the the 3rd ed character generator you are using? I've got most of the character's crunchy bits done but I'm finding some output errors when I try to print out a sheet with what I have.

So, thegreatbuddha is playing a Vengeful Priest? Am I the only one who finds that a little ironic? biggrin.gif
Shadow
I'm gonna have to bow out guys, my time isn't as wildly availible as I thought it was gonna be, sorry.
Havok
Looking for a new player then? biggrin.gif
I have an already-rolled Lion shaman that specializes in combat spells and beast spirits, with some nifty interrogation spells. Oh yeah, and he's a 10 yr old kid hehe. (Run away Tir Tairngire noble bratling)
fazzamar
Shadow:I understand, maybe next time.

I'm sorry but I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass on the 10 year old shadowrunner.

Lol on the 10 yr old. That was mostly a half-cocked joke I made up in my sleep-deprivedness last night biggrin.gif But on a more serious note, are you in fact looking for more players? I've played shadowrun for about 4 years now, and have played PBP games for about a year and a half, although I must admit I haven't played a Shadowrun PBP yet. And if you are looking for players, what archetypes are you looking to fill? I have my share of experienced grizzled veterans to hot-off-the-press newbie punks looking to make a name for themselves.

Sure, we have room for 1 more. Whatever you feel like playing is good, well, except a decker... we have one and that's going to be challenging enough for me. Currently we have a combat decker, a face/medic caster, a breaking and entering specialist, a ork street sammy, and a vengeful priest (take that for what you will).. So we have space for pretty much anything... though I'd say the top picks are a combat mage, weapon specialist, wheelman/rigger, or heck even another street sammy.
Havok
Oooh I may have to dust off my old weapon's specialist. 3rd edition, right? I'll have a character off to you in a little bit.
Chance359
Fazzamar I submitted my first version last night to you over pm, hope you got it.
Havok
Alright, I'm pulling out a REALLY old character, and I've decided to play his early years.

The name is Biff Kun, he's a ginormous troll who is basically a walking tank. He can take an insane amount of punishment and come out unscathed, and he loves big explosions and heavy weapons. Ex-UCAS special forces, and still has some contacts from the day, but he's making new ones.

I got it, I'm kinda disappointed that it wasn't the character we were talking about, but the ork will be cool too... although I noticed a glaring lack of diakoted throwing knives, or throwing skill for that matter.

Sounds interesting..... I'm looking forward to seeing him.

Ignore this
thegreatbuddha
Ignore what?
fazzamar
That post... the one that says "Ignore this"... ohhh but you didn't ignore it, that's negative 5 karma for you! nyahnyah.gif
apollo124
Hey, GM! If you would really rather I not play a decker, I could whip up a troll warrior adept tonight and get it to you. I have to go to work right now, but I could probably have it available for you by 1 am or so EST. I haven't ever actually played a decker before, so shifting to something more familiar would probably be a good idea anyway. Just let me know.
BiffKun
If you're going to play a troll warrior adept I'll play a combat mage. I'll send both sheets + .SR3 files to you Fazz

No, a combat decker is great. I just can't deal with 2 deckers.
BiffKun
OK, so I sent you the copy of Biff-Kun. It may need some work so look it over and get back to me.

--Edit--

OK so i RE-sent you Biff-Kun, I found out how to change the point-buy system. He's much more manageable now hehe. In case you were wondering, the spear is Di-Koted as well ^_^
fazzamar
Biffkun:I'm sorry I didn't specify this before but, only official 3rd edition source books are allowed. And I'd have to say no on the vehicle weapon.
BiffKun
Crap. Sorry I didn't look at the books haha. Reworking him right now, I should have him finished in like 15 minutes.
apollo124
Okay, Slim Jim is standing by. And now I'm curious about the vehicle weapon. wink.gif
BiffKun
Well the now-legal copy of Biff is off to you fazz lol. The new cyberware I had to get was much more expensive so there was nothing left over for the vehicle *sniff*

Someday....
apollo124
Hey Fazzamar, I just sent you the finalized version of Slim Jim. Hope it still passes. Ready to roll when you are.
