Ho yeah, forgot about this one.
It's... what? a first, second edition sourcebook?

Read though Shadows of Europe Page 203:
It doesn't sound to much different from modern day London but with more smog and domes. And by the sounds of it much bigger. But ill look in the London source book as i have it and see what that says but thats 20years behind. but i supuses ive got some leeway on what to do to London(the Smokes)

Edit:
the London source book is out of date big time (I think) last i heard London's population was around 14million as off today not 9.6mill as it is in the 2050s.

Edit2:
The book aren't much help he seem to explane Britan and the small thing I all ready know being a citizen of the said country. A few thing like talking about the Underplex and the ruling of London are help full but quite a lot is common knowledge slight alterations of London now. Not a bad source book but is out of date in many ways. Its a good start for the rebilding of London in 2070.

One interesting thing about London is that is was described (in the London SB) as a city with very, very few guns. Packing heat was a big deal. So runs would be far more subtle spy actions then Seattle-style guns blazing, which is a cool flavour. And there are nice plot hooks regarding mages, as mages are highly restricted. Basially the flavour is 1960s/70s Britain super-Fascism police state thing. Pretty cool. You'll probably need to flesh out a lot, but overall it's an interesting town.
Wesley Street
There was a brief text bit on the UK in Street Magic which referenced the Lord Protector's Office and the not-so-secret Druid conspiracy.

I imagine two inches of rain on the ground, minimum, everywhere. There are lots of chocolate bon-bon things to eat, and some sort of freakishly inhuman serial killer stalking the night.

Oh, and you'll need bigger guns.

Where on earth would you get that idea from..

To clarify, I didn't mean to say Britain was fascist at that time, I meant to say there was a fear and some perception (from the punk movement) that Britain was heading in that direction.

Britain 2070 = Britain that DID go in that direction, and then some. Distopia, remember? And last I checked (which was when our currency overtook theirs) Canada was not part of the US.

...actually had quite a bit of fun with this at the start of my RiS campaign. I of course forewarned the players that the UK and Europe were not as loose and freewheeling as Seattle and pulling out the Alpha with the integrated GL would attract far more attention than just few stares. True, there is the LCZ but unlike the Barrens of the Seattle Metroplex, the NP is not so likely to stop short of the south bank of the Thames and watch you skip away to he "badlands" as their Metroplex counterparts would (basically the NP are an arm of the UK Military rather than a private "for hire" police service).

Yeah intrigue is the way to go when in the Smoke which is why I love it so much. grinbig.gif

I haven't looked into London at all myself, but running with fewer guns.. That could be interesting. I'll have to look into those books, (I'm new with SR4, so very little back knowledge outside of researching everything dealing with Deus and crash 2065, for my technomancer)

That 14 million today refers to the London Metropolitan Area, which is like "Greater London plus anywhere a lot of people commute to jobs in London from"; is that also the 9.6M area in the sourcebook? Greater London right now has around 7.5 million. Plus we haven't had the big VITAS dieoff.

If I rember correctly, didn't the old Matrix topography have a Medieval castle theme to it? Of course, that was probably 1st edition, pre-crash and whatever else, but it might be a fun area for Hackers to run around in.
