Also, if the spell succeeds and knocks the kid out, Thinker's first action will be to get Frank, Grey, and the mage kid to calm down, with the explaination that the boy was getting unruly and needed to take a time out; essentially, that he's just unconscious, not dead. He'll ask grey not to take any retributive action, and, well, we'll see where that goes.
Would this be a Negotiation, or Ettiquete roll for the mage kid? Anyway, here's a few results for both, should they become necessary:
First test: 05 01 03
Second: 04 05 05
Third: 01 04 05
(Three potential targets, the dice amounts are the same for either an Ettiquete or a Negotiations test)

As far as I remember, magic does not stage. If anybody has canon ruling to contradict me, let me know, and I'll go with it from then on in. But for right now (since I can't seem to remember if it does or not) I'm ruling that it doesn't.

Sure thing. SR3, p. 183, under "Spell Effect:"

Quick question @tanka when do you want me to jump in? Well assuming the character background checks out *8->
[edit]Also was wondering on how to link in, is Dominic still about? Failing that Thinker is there any chance of knowing you already? *8->[/edit]

Jump in whenever you feel fit.
No, neither Dominic or Harlot are with us. That was Doc Funk and his (real life) wife.

Brief background: Ex-shadowrunner infected ona run gone south by two (now dead) Dzoo-noo-qua, had all his cyber expelled (ouchy *8->) and found by group of vamps (presumably the main group) then got taught magic (hence possible link to Thinker although I'm a shaman....)
@Tanka I'll post as soon as I get a chance (prolly this evening too busy at work to be able to sneak a post *8-< other than this one....
Cya'll soon *8->

Just realised that I'd not rolled starting essence and so in case you did want us to roll our own here's mine: 10 (w00t *8->) Posting to IC in a mo.
[edit]haven't rolled his stealth for the hiding, mostly it's for dramatic effect although if trouble does really kick off I'll roll it in, plus I haven't got my char sheet handy but it's about 6 dice I think *8-> cya'll later [/edit]

OK, we can assume that, since there aren't that many Vamps around, and that many need to cultivate their magical skills, that Thinker and Darkling studied together for a while.
EDIT:
I'm going to take Darkling's atempts at communication as an indication that he's a willing target for a Mindlink spell.
Force 2 Mindlink spell, 6 Sorcery dice against a TN of 4 yields 4 successes: 01 17 11 05 04 03.
Drain: 7 Willpower + 6 Spell pool against 2S stun tields 10 successes (05 07 02 01 03 05 04 01 10 01 10 07 05) for no drain.
Callidus
Jan 16 2004, 04:11 PM
Yup, he'd willingly accept a mindlink from Thinker *8-> good thinking... now I wonder if I could learn that.... *8->

Grey: Roll Willpower. She's a feisty one, she is.

Damn you, boy! And damn McMackie for his accursed dice roller too!
Well, you know who Antacus is. He's a very high initiate Nosferatu, claiming the area in which you live, and quite an extensive area outside of it, as his turf. You only have permission to live there because he happens to like you lot.
Edit: Yes, Keari was sent to "replace" Dominic. Gotta have some semblance of leadership here.

GunnerJ: You not only get the information that Grey got, but you also know that he is a Polecat Shaman, with his Initiate level approaching the double digits.
gobogen: You get the same information Grey does out of the name.
Callidus: You get a sneaking suspiscion that you should know the name, but it isn't fully familiar to you.
Out of the assensing test you gather that Keari is healthy and has no cyberware. You cannot tell her emotional state. You can tell that she is magically active, but you cannot tell in what manner she is.
It is also plainly obvious that there is a tattoo on her back, which is exposed by the deep drop of her leather outfit. The image is of two naked women in the Yin/Yang position.
OK, now waiting for Cheese... Anybody heard anything from him?

Jan 22 2004, 11:05 PM
I'm not sure about exactly what we are waiting for right now, but I think we should try to get things moving a little.. there were almost no posts in the past week. If we are waiting for Cheese, well we might be waiting for a long time, so maybe we could consider continuing with the story.

Ummm... yeah, what he said. I keep almost giving up on this game, then someone posts. Lets try to keep the posts more constant. If we end up needing to wait for people... don't wait. Keep the game moving and let them catch up later.

Frank is casting Influence Force 4 on the kid to suggest that he obeys exactly what Frank tells him to do, for now answering his questions.
Sorcery 5(+5 from Magic pool, +4 from focus): 9,5,4,2,4,2,1,4,5,1,7,11,8,13
# of successes depending on Willpower of target (10 successes for W4, 5 for W6)
Drain 2S: W8 +2 from Sor +2 from SPool: 1,3,1,4,5,10,2,8,4,1,10,5 No drain
Wow, that was lucky. I'm sure I didn't need that much

I guarantee that its over, cause I just logged in as one of my other AIM handles and saw tanka online, which means he put my main account on his block list. Considering that I almost never messaged him unless it was to ask a question about the game, I think we can assume that he won't be back.
