given the types of custom contacts that are out there, its only a question of time.
now, if they can find a way to do "tattoo's" in a surgical way as well, installing whole images in one go or something like that, and with minor scaring and the possibility of ease of removal or replacement.
oh wait, just install some kind of eink layer that can be altered or turned of using em induction...

There's already an electronic "tattoo" lcd screen they developed. It gets implanted in your body and works as a bluetooth enabled touch-screen for cellphones--there should be a couple threads about it on here if you do a search, I started one of them.
Also, I can't remember if I saw that camera system for the blind thing on here or somewhere else--but actual cybereyes with image-link are already in the works, they just have shit picture quality at the moment.
Huh, they're being installed in blind people, maybe it's not the hardware at all, but just that their brain isn't used to processing visual data...

Cool, hadn't seen those--though that's more of an image-linked contact than a cybereye.
>Here's< the thing I was talking about.
And while we're throwing links around:

And while we're throwing links around:
The Tattoo TouchscreenI'm thinking that you could combine the lens with that bionic eye and give the various functionality of a cybereye. Lowlight, vision mag, image link, and heck if you have a cell phone with blue tooth and a big enough SD card, image recorder.

Yeah--one thing, do cybereyes come with onboard storage for the recording feature, or do you have to save the vid-files to your commlink or some other external storage?
That could be important if your 'link gets dropped/hacked/stolen/shot to hell...

In SR4, memory is everywhere. You can store your footage on your underwear or the butt of your gun (or both) if you want. It's ubiquitous.

Hence the
"paydata in the boxers" bit from the skinlink thread...
