Hey everyone,
Don't have my BBB here, but I was curious about this because I'm working on a troll character. Now, I presume they don't; but my little character generator doesn't mention anything. Anyone have a book handy, to quote the appropriate "Sorry, you can't have a troll with +6 to damage resistance tests" passage?

They stack, but their effect is to increase the Body attribute for the test, rather than merely bonus dice, so your augmented maximum comes into play.

They don't stack, they merely add bonus dice for damage resistance tests, so your augmented maximum doesn't come into play...
Basically, you were wrong on all accounts...

The BBB states that they increase Body, not provide bonus dice, and neither description suggests that they shouldn't stack, so
the book was wrong on all accounts...

I had checked the errata, but not the FAQ. This sort of information is way too spread out.

They increaase Body only for damage resistance purposes. Since they don't increase Body across the board, and their bonus does not apply to all the things that Body is used for, the bonus is just that, a bonus and not a overall addition to the entire Attribute itself.

Then I suppose my beef is with the language used. The description should state that they're bonuses rather than attribute increases instead of relying upon some unwritten rule-of-thumb that anything that doesn't apply to everything is a bonus.

I agree with you. I guess that's why there was a need to include that particular question and answer in the official FAQ.

Now, if I want to get _real_ nit-picky..
(from the FAQ)
"Are bone lacing cyberware and bone density bioware compatible?
No. A character can have both, but only the highest bonus would apply. "
Now, are they referring to the melee damage bonus, or to the resistance test bonus, or both? Honestly, deep down I know it's both; but I find it kind of amusing that both the book AND the FAQ are unclear.

i'm assuming its the meele bonus, since the two systems provide slightly different bonuses. Bone Density gives +4 damage resistance, but Titanium gives only a +3 w/ a +1 ballistic/impact bonus. kind of hard to say which is better.
