I don't think I can quite groove if a female "Johnson" is actually called Mis(s). Johnson. To me it does not quite have the appropriate ring to it. I was just wondering does anyone have any good ideas on what to call a female Johnson besides Johnson or Johnsonina?

For instance every man is named Mr. Johnson and every woman is named Mis(s). Gayle. Anyone have any good names?

I kind of like the name Gayle as it is fairly nondescript and it can then be Mis(s). Gayle's Little Black Book, and for some reason I highly enjoy that.

Traditionally, it's been Miss Johnson, though it wouldn;t be unusual for "Mr Johnson" to be used gender Neutral as well.

"Johnson" isn't like a waiter. It's a generic last name used for all people in the biz because Johnson competes with Smith for the most common last name in the US (and it doesn't sounds funny the way going to the meet with the Smith or Willy would.

Personally I'd say keep Johnson. The whole point is anonymity. If the cops overhear that you need to drop the stuff off with the Robinson you've already told them you're dealing with a female.

Though if you must out of that list I think Robinson is the only one that has female connotations.

In 2nd edition the Johnson Contact explicitly stated that "He may not look the same the next time you see him... he may not even be a he. But it's always Mr. Johnson". Besides, there may be something intriguing about a woman in a stark black suit who prefers to be referred to as Mr Johnson.

If by "Miss" you mean "Ms." then I agree.

Unless I'm mistaken, it is also correct to use "Mr. Johnson" whether the principal is male, female, or even a group. It's something of a title, a professional courtesy used by shadowrunners to indicate that they honor their clients' anonymity.

We sometimes use Sergeant Johnson when "Mr. Johnson" is obviously Star or Military. Again, no need to differentiate the sex of the J.

"Mister Johnson" is a title, not a name. Even if you're dealing with "Mr. Bunraku", the Asian equivilent of "Mr. Johnson", he's still a "Mister Johnson".

Comes from back in the days when the Corporations were starting up the Shadow Business, and had a small group of pre-made histories for their people, the most numerous name used was "Johnson", and the vast, vast, vast majority of them were male.

So you see, "Mister Johnson", again, being a title, is gender neutral.

The problem with using "Mr. Johnson" as a gender-neutral term is that Johnson is also a term for a portion of the male anatomy, so a female "Mr. Johnson" lacks the opportunity for lewd innuendo. I guess if you're a Seinfeld fan, you could call a female Johnson "Delores".

"Mr. Johnson" is an employer. A "johnson" is a penis.
