Vehicle De-Modification

Vehicle De-Modification is simply the way of removing standard items on a vehicle to make space for more modifications.

Removing items on a vehicle at character creation yields the following:

1/2 cost of the modification in cash to sell for scrap.
The slots of the modification is returned

Removing armor is done once. You cannot remove armor and fill the space with say concealed armor.

Vehicle mods like improved acceleration and speed can be used in the reverse and lowers the speed and acceleration by 20% and yields 1 slot each since you can only remove so much before the vehicle falls apart.

not sure i would allow this for all modifications. in some case a vehicle mod is not so much a modification as it is just how the vehicle works (for example, certain aircraft just have VTOL capabilities, it isn't really a mod at all in such a case.)

Arsenal says that you don't get slots back for removing standard upgrades (page 107, under the Standard Upgrades section).

i believe this was intended as a house rule. note the lack of any sort of page reference, or indeed any sort of effort to ask a question, or really even make a point.

it's basically just something that The Jopp made for his own games, and felt like sharing.
