So, I did a search of the forums, and I didn't really find anything to help me. Have they said how to handle radiation in SR4 yet (I only have core thus far), or if not how do you do it?

I think it is mentioned in Augmentatios.
My group ran into some radiation before Aug, and the GM hand waved it as "special stun damage" that recovers when he said so.

there were rules for radiation in SR3, i think they were in Target: Wastelands. But i'll have to check.
Edit:
Just checked it is in Target: Wastelands.
it can cause radiation burns with a power related to the amount of "rads" taken, and also causes radiation sickness that is treated like a disease that you check against every 24hours with a power and damage level determined again by the amount of rads taken.
There is also a handy table showing the amounts of rads given off by different sources, fission reactor, fission reactor melt down, fission blast, etc.

The Rules are in Arsenal
or more elaborate in SOX (a German/French sourcebook).

The rules in Arsenal seem quite basic compared to Target:Wastelands. You could do some converting to get them over to SR4 if the Arsenal rules aren't detailed enough.

In what way?

I wonder if the SOX rules are the same as Target:Wastelands rules, they are more technical and need a bit of book keeping but are little more realistic.

In SOX is little more background Info and a rule for traveling trough terrain, which is contaminated with radiation with or without proper protection. e.g. If you traval trough a Level 3 (effective dose 1-3Sv) contaminated Zone without proper protection, your radiation level raises up 1Sv every week, with protection it does not even raise at all.
The rules in the Arsenal are fully sufficient if you don't play in a large contaminated environment like the SOX and even there they might be sufficient, if you don't have to stick around. I think a English version of the sourcebook part of SOX exists and back there, it was rumored to release it for the English speaking people in some way, but I do not know for sure...

Radiation = plot device. Elaborate rules are just asking to end in silly, silly situations. Even sillier than bullets bouncing of people because they rolled lucky soak checks.

I was just looking for something simple. I had thought about doing it as a toxin, just wondering if there was anything simple and fast out there.

there is also a radiation elemental effect in street magic.

No, there is not. The Nuclear Toxic Spirit has Energy Aura (Radiation), etc, but there is no Radiation Elemental effect. I do not know why they chose to reference it when it does not exist, but that does not change it not existing.
