Any one know of something from the books that prohibits the use of an astral signature as some a symbolic link? I've got a group of players that need a bone thrown to them, but I'd rather not bend the rules too much to do so. They missed the opportunity to ask some questions of knowledgeable types and I might need a mid session course correction next time depending on how far off-course they go. I question the rail-roady nature of my plans, but mostly I want to give them the information they missed so that they can choose to follow-up on it or not.
Regardless, I suppose that's a conversation for another time (read: thread).

Astral signatures could be used in the creation of a symbolic link, if the character has the Sympathetic Linking metamagic. Otherwise, maybe they could send a description of the astral signature to Lone Star and get a positive match...including the magician's name and address...

So at the risk of thread jacking, how communicable are astral signatures? At my table we've been requiring a telepathic link (mage/spirit link, mind net, or mind probe) to convey signature accurately to use for magical proposes. Is there a RAW stance on sharing signatures spotted?
