Honestly though most of it is just being willing to do it. Still the article has good basic advice with watching body language, giving your full attention, and be fun and positive not pushy or negative.

But the biggest part (especially in forum based stuff), is just being willing to initiate contact.

On that note I've had 4 DSers give it a shot. A mixed bag of results. While maybe I shouldn't have been. I was surprised to find SR players who would probably flick off and immortal elf lock up when I tried to shove them at a catgirl.

Well the thing is that nobody could articulate exactly what flirting entailed in detail, so I had no way of knowing if what I was doing qualified as "flirting" or not. I also get more of a sense from that article that if you really, really, REALLY don't want to do it with someone you shouldn't force yourself, as it's a behavior that is supposed to have at least something to do with the emotions you're feeling. Before I'd had the feeling that you had to bust it out from time to time and do it to various females or else you were considered socially inept. But after reading the article I understand that there's truly no point to doing it if you, for example, actively dislike the female in question, or already know that you don't share any common interests, etc.

Has no one yet asked "Is that your tail, or are you just happy to see me".

I think that some may still fear that you are Chris Hansen, despite your protestations to the contrary ( or perhaps because of them). The fact that it is a PG board doesn't help matters. I mean, the PG of today is the R of twenty years ago, but it is still a bit difficult to flirt over on a PG message board without including more sexual double-entendres than a semi-pronographic Rocky and Bullwinkle episode.

I'm in the Mil, at a good work location that won't be changing for at least another two years, with nothing crazy in sight unless the world goes to hell in a hand basket. I can also post scattered over about 16 hours a day if I can hit the board at work. Only times I wouldn't be around are games I run, big events, race days, and car club events.

Well since I last posted some of the guys have picked up a bit and some have mostly returned.

Actually they still don't have full female coverage. i.e. there are enough guys to go around but they aren't giving attention to all the females. Leaving a couple relatively lonely.

On the other hand the thread is flying right now. So adding might not be so hot an idea. I dunno.

Sorry it took a while to post again. I saw your message at 4am and started thinking and working up a character. Been busy all day (Military Sports Day, then an early game day for several hours).

I'll send you the character on the other forum. Best well to think of him is this: Total Nerd, zero girl experience, mind fractures into several parts each with full access to memories and the ability to communicate with each other, subconscious is now X times more powerful, his body begins rapidly adapting and optimizing itself (fully directed by his subconscious), his interaction and sensing of Ki and the universe is expanded by the same factor. He also doesn't believe in hitting people at the time he joins play (most likely will change rapidly depending on how things go).

Or in Dumpshock terms: A total nerd with no girl experience who is a *MEGA* Pornomancer with a really powerful subconscious tweaking his body (Improved Ability [all Social] 3, LOTS o' Kinesics, Attribute Boost [All] 1, Improved Reflexes 1, Rapid Healing 4, Facial [actually Body] Sculpt 4, Melanin Control, Voice Control, Commanding Voice, Metabolic Control), with lots of multiple minds (Analytics 8, Cool Resolve 4, Iron Will 4, Multi-Tasking), and really powerful Ki (Combat Sense 8, Blind Fighting, Spells: Ignite, Fling, Light, Magic Fingers, Poltergeist, Shadow).

Or my personal fav, taken from the last line describing his appearance...
