Full Version: Las Vegas?

I live in Las Vegas and I'm going to be running a game soon. My main question is: What is happening/has happened in Las Vegas?

I found it listed in the Wiki with a few blurbs. Anyone have any good info on it? I figure I'll be making it up. Maybe Adam would like it. ^^

Tiny questions.
Where are the rules for "riggers?" I saw a small blurb in the core book, but not a lot about using drones. Is that in Unwired?

If someone has uncontrollable, and unknown powers, what kind of bonus would you give? 30bp? Maybe a .75 multiplier on cost? You pick the abilities depending on what the character is based around. They get more then they normally would, but have to learn how to use them in character. What do you think?

What is the BBB? I can't find it online. =(

Thanks ^^

Hey, I live in Las Vegas as well!

To answer your question, the correct answer is probably, "Whatever would work best for your purposes". Most people aren't 100% on top of what's going on with the metaplot anyway. Just double check which nation it's part of and then make something up. If it's UCAS, fine. If it's one of the native american states, keep inserting Indian Casino jokes.

To flesh it out a little more, NAN1 said that 'Vegas is still going strong as a pinkskin area within the NAN. It was just too wqealthy to give up the income so imagine it like today, but even more options for debauchery including pit fights

Big Black (alternatively: Blue) Book - the core rulebook.

The "BBB" is slang for Big Blue/Black Book. Which refers to the core SR rule book.

*edit*The primary rules for rigging are under the rigging and drone section on pg 238 & 239. the vehicle combat section of the BBB, starting on page 158 will cover things like movement, initiative & sensors.

For the uncontrollable and unknown powers, be mindful of game balance, and don't be overly malicious with it as the GM. You may want to look at the "Mysterious Implant" negative quality on page 106 of Runner's Companion for guidance on how to run it. It's a 5 to 25 point quality, depending on the severity/power of the implant.

Pit fights, LOL. Were they watching Best of the Best 2?

There's already lots of MMA in Las Vegas. You can even just go and drop into various gyms and watch some of the UFC stars train. It's really something to see them sparring like 7 feet away from you than watching them on TV. A video screen actually just doesn't convey how large, powerful, and dynamic they are. Frank Mir almost has an aura about him when you see him in person up close.

I meant with weapons, like swords. In NAN1 they mention the current champ looks so much like a certain 20th century actor that he fights under the name "Arnold the Barbarian"

You know, I was trying to find an appropriate YouTube clip but there actually aren't any.

I guess it's true then, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas
