Full Version: Character Dossier

I have been steadily working on a 4th edition dossier that I would like reviewed by others but I have no place to host it. Any suggestions?

My Dossier is loosely based on Wordman's 3rd edition character sheets, at least it started out that way. I created everything originally in Excel (which has many drop down lists to fill in the sheets) but converted it into a PDF for simpler distribution.

I love details so as an example my vchicle page come complete with its own commlink section (they have a device rating after all) for upgrading and programs, which I have not seen anyone else do so far.

Ok lets try this link to MediaFile. Let me know what you think. Its still a work in progress.

Ismodred's Character Dossier

No offense intended, but until you create an editable PDF sheet at least equal to Ismodred's, I won't be using it.

No offense take. Personally I do not like having all the skills, etc listed on a character sheet that I may never use. Thus I created the sheet the way I did. Also It was created in excel which at some point I could upload which has multiple easy to fill in drop down options with associated data.

I also think that my vechile and commlink pages are far more detailed then Ismodreds. Again it is simply a matter of preference. Use it if you like, comments are what I'm looking for mostly.

I like it at first glance.

The detail is nice. I like how you've broken up the secondary sheets. I might suggest finding some space on the "arsenal" page and putting a coles notes version of the comlink on it. Just System, Response, Firewall, and Signal with a few lines for programs. It would keep players who just run a bare bones 'link from having to keep track of an extra page. One or two lines for Armour on the front page would also be handy to avoid page flipping.

Form Fillable doesn't really affect me. I'm a pencil and paper sort of gamer anyhow and form fillable PDF's make the ancient rig that I keep my gaming stuff on slow to a crawl.

Oh, and you have bookmarks, but they don't correspond to the actual pages.

I liked it too. But I was thinking of trying to do something similar that would work with damienknights generator. As the GM, I tend to be constantly making NPCs so the generator is helpful but the chractersheet in it is a one pager without the room for details or addding your own notes like weapon mods (such as how the distinctive gun you have looks), contact details and so on.

I've saved a bunch of these sheets. I'm a fan of the shorter sheets (Ismodred's 4 pager for instance), but I dislike the skill listings the way he does it (I <3 blank lines). Plus I tend to print and pencil, unlike my frequent D&D excel sheets (D&D has much much more cross-cell math, this adds to these 14 squares, that one gets added with these two (one of which is derived) and sums to this, which is then used as a base for these 8....) whereas ShadowRun is Skill + Attribute, and I can do basic math. Though on my printed sheets I do put my total dice pool for my two guns (10 and 12 respectively, +1 if I free-action aim) just because those ARE modified by 3 or 4 other numbers (skill, attribute, smartlink, aim, specialization).

One thing my current character doesn't need is a whole page to cyber/bio implants. He's a freaking adept. On the book's sheet I actually commandeered that to list what the four derived attributes were (Judge Intent, etc.)

Thanks for the feed back. Its a work in progress afterall. I to am a pencil and paper shadowrunner my self.

The suggestion for a simplified Commlink on the Arsenal page could be handy for some I agree, have to look into that. I spent quite a bit of time on my commlink pages because in my games I feel it is a very important aspect of the game.

My contents page is out of order I know, I quickly put that together one afternoon and have not fixed it as of yet.

The Augments page can be a bit long for some. I'll have to make a second page for that with less space and fill the rest in with somethign else.

My as of yet unfinished drone pages will look something similar to the vehicle pages as well as having a simplified drone page.

The Bound spirits page is still set to some old 3rd ed rules which I have not updated yet from Street Magic.

Haven't had any Technomancers in the group until recently so thats why I have not created those pages yet.

Please keep the feedback coming. And if you see any errors let me know.

Technomancers can share the same page as the comlink hacker stuff, really. Their brain IS their comlink and their complex forms ARE programs.
