Ok, so I've read the FAQ on the CGL site, and it's a fine document. I've also searched through the 17 pages that came up with I searched for "dual wielding" or "dual pistols" or a few other combos. A lot of interesting discussion, but I'm still left with questions.
I'll start with the basics, let's say I've got 2 Predators from the BBB and I have Ambidex and a whole lotta dice from lots of sources. I've caught on to the part where you divide the pool, THEN add the modifiers (like specialization) to each pool. My big question is on recoil. All 3 examples in the FAQ are for s single weapon. (and what action movie star would only wield a single gun) Lets assume for this example that each of the pistols has a pool of 10 dice before any shots are fired. The also assume both guns are shooting at the same target for the entire Initiative Pass.
Scenario A: Take the FAQ literally about, "b) Every bullet fired in an Action Phase after the first incurs a cumulative -1 recoil mod" and uncompensated recoil modifiers apply to both guns.
Right 1: 9 Dice (-1 from L1)
Left 1: 9 Dice (-1 for 2nd shot of the phase)
Right 2: 5 Dice (-2 for 3rd bullet of the round + -3 from L2)
Left 2: 5 Dice (-3 for 4th bullet of the round + -2 from R2)
Scenario B: Same as above, but shots are considered simultaneous, so a pair of 1st shots and a pair of 3rd shots.
Right 1: 10 Dice
Left 1: 10 Dice
Right 2: 6 Dice (-2 for 3rd bullet of the round + -2 from L2)
Left 2: 6 Dice (-2 for 3rd bullet of the round + -2 from R2)
Scenario C: As above, but shots are considered 2nd and 4th instead of 1st and 3rd.
Right 1: 8 Dice (-1 for 2nd shot of the round + -1 from L1)
Left 1: 8 Dice (-1 for 2nd shot of the round + -1 from R1)
Right 2: 4 Dice (-3 for 4th shot of the round + -3 from L2)
Left 2: 4 Dice (-3 for 4th shot of the round + -3 from R2)
ok, now the same scenarios with dual SMGs that have gas-vent 3 and a folding stock (total of 4 RC) firing short bursts.
Scenario A: Take the FAQ literally about, "b) Every bullet fired in an Action Phase after the first incurs a cumulative -1 recoil mod" and uncompensated recoil modifiers apply to both guns.
Right 1: 10 Dice (-2 for burst + 4 RC = 2 RC remaining)
Left 1: 10 Dice (-3 for burst + 4 RC = 1 RC remaining)
Right 2: 7 Dice (-3 for burst + 2 RC + -2 from L2)
Left 2: 7 Dice (-3 for burst + 1 RC left + -1 from R2)
Scenario B: Same as above, but bursts are considered simultaneous, so a pair of 1st burst and a pair of 3rd bursts.
Right 1: 10 Dice (-2 for burst + 4 RC = 2 RC remaining)
Left 1: 10 Dice (-2 for burst + 4 RC = 2 RC remaining)
Right 2: 8 Dice (-3 for burst +2 RC + -1 from L2)
Left 2: 8 Dice (-3 for burst + 2 RC - 1 from R2)
Scenario C: As above, but bursts are considered 2nd and 4th instead of 1st and 3rd.
Right 1: 10 Dice ( -3 for burst + 4 RC = 1 RC remaining)
Left 1: 10 Dice (-3 for burst + 4 RC = 1 RC remaining)
Right 2: 6 Dice (-3 for burst + 1 RC + -2 from L2)
Left 2: 6 Dice (-3 for burst + 1 RC + -2 from R2)
The next question would be for the "Defender Has Defended Against Previous Attacks" modifier. It applies a cumulative -1 modifier for each defense roll. So would that mean:
A) First SA 0/-1, Second SA -2/-3 (shots are essentially sequential as in Scenario A above)
B) First SA 0/0, Second SA -2/-2 (a pair of 1st and 3rd shots)
C) First SA -1/-1, Second SA -3/-3 (a pair of 2nd and 4th shots)
It might be good to add a 4th (or 5th) example to the FAQ to illustrate dual wielding.
