Full Version: Aspected Domain and Spirit Binding

Suppose that a mage has access to an aspected domain aspected to his tradition. That would clearly give him a bonus on summoning a spirit.
But what happens with binding? As I understand it
1) The spirit is of the same tradition as the summoner
2) They are both going to be affected by the domain, since they are both present
3) The spirit will gain 2*domain dice, while the binder will only gain domain dice?

i.e. summon your spirits in your aspected domain, but do somewhere else to bind them?

The same seems to apply to technomancers registering sprites in resonance wells.

Yours,
Joel

PS: In the interest of thread-conservation, and because it is also about how lifestyle bonuses can affect things, do most folks consider that Feng Shui applies to technomancers doing hacking / software analysis? I presume it would not apply to threading or to sprite interactions.

[editted to make clear the assumed tradition of the quesiton. Sorry.]

Actually I believe the Aspected Domains can give a bonus to summoning spirits or to binding them. The spirit would NOT get the benefits of the aspected domain.

Keep in mind that an aspected domain could give spirits bonuses to resist being summoned / bound as well.

Nothing says it being an aspected domain is always beneficial to the caster/summoner.

Aspected Domains give a dice pool bonus to Magical Skill Tests and Drain Resistance Tests.

Binding is a Magical Skill.

Resisting Binding (Force x 2) is not, it's not a Skill Test at all.

A Spirit appropriate to the Domain does not lose Force but it doesn't gain any either.
