Is it just me or can you really twink out your AI if you choose Pilot Origin due to their ability to ditch skills and take autosofts instead.

Sure, you wont get powerful and a super hacker but you can make some really fun characters out of it. See it like a newly born AI who is basically a self aware OS who hasnt had the time to actually create a Codebase yet.

Most skills can be simulated through autosofts and software, although the character will not be a skill powerhouse the character will have a base skill of 4, add a good system to that and you are good to go.

First the skills:

Combat Tests: Targeting Autosoft
Stealth Tests: Chaser, Covert Ops, Trailblazer Autosoft
Defense: Defense Autosoft
Hacking Tests: Technical Skill Autosoft
Computer Tests: Technical Skill Autosoft
Movement Tests: Maneuver Autosoft
Athletics Tests: Maneuver Autosoft
Social Tests: Empathy Software
Perception Tests: Clearsight

Since an AI isnt wholly a flesh character and neither is he a drone I realized that certain tests were a bit limited as either human or drone and not really fitting for an AI. Note: We play with the rule that matrix tests are Logic+Skill limited by Software Rating.

Combat Skill Test
Response + Autosoft + Modifiers

Matrix Tests
Logic + Autosoft + Modifiers

Physical Skill Tests
Response + Autosoft + Modifiers

Sensor / Perception Tests
Intuition + Sensor + Autosoft + Modifiers

Social Skill Tests
Charisma + Sensor Software + Modifiers

Technical Skill Tests
Logic+ Autosoft + Modifiers

An AI built this way need a lot of cash, is limited by program rating and really need to make backup cashes of program and reserve nodes if something goes wrong. Then we have the problems with viruses, lacking actual skills (very depending on program). The good part is that we have LOTS of resources for base attributes, edge, drones and contacts.
