Just saw the article on the official HP about the SR-dices they are going to sell. Great, one pack for me please. But what about the old version they shared at a convention years ago. Does anybody know where i can get some? They don´t sell it on ebay and i think everybody who got some keeps them, but is there an alternative way to get my hands on some?
Chibu
Yeah< i like the dice as well. At least, I think they looked cool in the tiny picture on the blog post anyway. But, I will probably pick up a set (or three! =D Depending on the price =\) as well. I didn't know about older ones though.
BookWyrm
A link, please?

And even better: SR-dice

Thanks. But I'll stick with the large amount of dice I already have set aside.

Oh sure, I already have hundreds of dice. I have '100 CD-R spindle' with the pole in the middle removed full of dice. That's not the issue. The issue is that these ones are cool nyahnyah.gif I like the logo. In the closup in the wiki article, I like them even more. Anyone have any idea on the price of these sets?
Malachi
It would be nice if the 5 and the 6 had a special logo, then you could count hits really easily.
Chibu
Nahh, I don't play 4th, so that would be annoying nyahnyah.gif The 6 having the logo is enough. =D

I was going to mention this and then thought about all the folks playing versions with variable target numbers.

Baaaah...minorities...they don´t count. Minorities...hmmm...reminds me of minions...yeah.^^
Grinder
I have 12 SR-dices that had been sold in the mid-90s by FanPro.
Machiavelli
Are you going to...errrrm...sell them? wink.gif
Stahlseele
I just bought 8 perfect dice for SR . . never roll below 5, in 99% of the time you WILL roll a 6 ^^
Eugene
Pity that the dice don't have the logo in blue like the ones way back when, but they're still nice.

Boo >.< Someone needs to make *real* d6's in bulk quantity and not too big of a size. I say this as both a 40k and Shadowrun player. Ordinary gaming dice with rounded edges are not random, they have flaws that mean they tend to be biased towards certain numbers. Pick up any given standard gaming d6, and you probably will not have an equal chance of rolling each number. Which really sucks if you need a 5 or a 6, and it's biased towards the 1, 2, 3, or 4. Real random dice are like casino dice, with sharp edges. Of course casino dice are beaucoup expensive, and too big to roll in big fistfulls. Someone needs to make square-edged d6's that are reasonably precise! Not saying casino quality, but is it too much to ask? Seriously? frown.gif
Prime Mover
Making SR dice that represented glitches 1 and 2's(on rushed test), 5's and 6's (separated for edge tests). Would definitely get pricey I looked into doing a set of 12 and after totaled the cost I changed my mind. But I'm all for getting set of these so I can be the coolest kid at our table. wink.gif
Kingboy
I have started a battle cry of sorts around our table, and it goes approximately thus:

"Give me dice with heft!"

The best solution for me? Old school board game dice. They are bigger than the crappy "brick" dice that gaming stores overcharge for, made from a heavier plastic (HEFT!) and lack rounded suck-ass corners. Plus, I found out that Bicycle makes card packs of dice that are exactly the same, just with the company logo printed on the "1" face (which can actually be handy). Target had a 10 pack of said dice for $2, which is a lot cheaper than most gaming stores.

Rounded corner dice suck.
Small "brick" dice suck more.
The default Games Workshop small white dice suck worst of all. Seriously, I would swear those things are cursed.

Sweet! My friend just bought me a set of them at Origins! (I couldn't make it out there though =( )

(Obviously I'm excited about this nyahnyah.gif)

Alexand
Any word on when/if these dice will be available outside of Origins?

I couldn't make it, but I do want those dice they look pretty awesome.

I heard that they will be available online within the next couple of weeks.

I actually took a brick of white dice with black pips, and used white out on the 2's, 3's and 4's. It does make counting successes go faster.

I took dark blue dice with silver pips and used a red sharpie on the ones and a green sharpie on the 5's and 6's....it does make the counting faster
Chibu
Someone else around here used blue dice with white pips, red sharpie on the 1, blue sharpie on the 2,3,4. I think it's in their sig or something.
