I know there is a program out there that will calculate all the gun creation stuff from CC, but I can't remember where it is? Can someone fill me in?

No one? I know one exsists somewhere!

http://pathwalker.freehomepage.com/Partially completed gun shop program, can download from above web page. If anyone interested in an updated version version, contact me at soulpathwalker@hotmail.com and I'll get around to finishing it. Uses Cannon Conpanion rules from the gun creation section, though the customization section hasn't been programed in yet.

I think that it needs to updated and finished.

I'd agree. I finally tracked down a program for making guns, but the guy I got it from didn't know where he found it and neither of us know who made it.

How was the program written? What format?
I actually started making something like that using simple excel. (since it's mostly just cross-checking charts).
Curious how others made it.

GunShop v0.8 out!
Ok runners and GM's alike, got a fully working (hopefully!) Gunshop program made. v0.8 cause it still might have a few bugs/flaws/errors in it, and perhaps a couple extra options to add in later. Web site again for anyone too lazy to look up:
http://pathwalker.freehomepage.com/contact me for any suggestions, questions, or if yah find any errors.
The program was written in Delphi 4.0. I did think about using execl at first, but a few things I found much easier to do in Delphi, including saving guns and exporting to html.

Nice little program you got there
And an efficient one, too - like programs used to be in the good, old DOS age. Compact, one-file, no registery messing, no complec installation. I like this style.
The only bugs I ran into this far are inaccurate available options for various gun types; SMGs, for example, show a Folding Stock as a blank box (marking an unavailble option, as far as I understand), while it should be available for them. Assualt Rifles show it as a grey box, despite the fact that it doesn't matter much for ARs (no RC for them from stocks, IIRC).
Also, the program should list recoil compensation options among the other customizations/options in addition to increasing the RC stat.
And, it'd be nice to have the
"Firearm prices the sensible way" from TSS as a "house rule" option (basically multiplying the final cost by a certain factor to represent the cheaper prices of mass-produced firarms in comparison to prototypes).

I think it would probably be a little better to have both, the way cannon companion calculates the cost, then an option to turn on TSS. Since TSS isnt canon, its just fixing what we generally think is wrong. Some GM's may want to use the full cost for the guns. Just my 2

I think I would charge the full price for a custom firearm at chargen. I view it like how you don't get any modifiers for street index on starting gear, even favourable ones. It costs what it's worth to the character, not nessecarily how much it costs.
Retail prices would probably be somewhat less though.

Nice program, however your non-standard interface is perplexing... A greyed out box should not become un-greyed when you click it... In fact, I have no freaking clue of what the various check-box modes mean. What is the differance between a greyed out checked check-box and a unchecked check-box?

As near as I can tell, grayed out empty box means that you can't get the modification for that weapon frame. A grayed out box with a check means you don't currently have the modification attached to the weapon but it is available.
There's probably a better way to do it, but it seems to work fine.

I was working on a shotgun, and it had the max ammo for break action and internam magazine backward. The initial ammo count was correct, but it allowed for a 10 shot break action (a very interesting idea, but not in the rules). Also, the increased ammo capacity is only for cylinders and internal magazines, the extended clip modification is for removable magazines (as the retro-lingual nazis call them).

Ok, made some updates to the program, new version on the same site.
Bulk costs added in the house rules.
Fixed a couple calcuation bugs, including Smartlink-2 costs and Stock Options, hopefully.
If your having any read of address errors, for now try selecting the Gun Type (aka Frame) first. I'll see about more error-proofing the program later so you only get a friendly reminder rather then a quite ugly 00402A63 message.
Shotgun and ammo fix next version, I'll see about it hopefully this weekend if I got the time.
Couldn't find a good way to do it with the standard interface, any suggestions welcome.
10 Conceal Assult Rifles only for GM's who bend the rules (eg the grayed area on the Improve Conceal bar the limit of what you allowed to do per Companion Rules), and for players who kill the NPC's that hold the weapons that the GM bent the rules with. Never give an NPC something you don't want the players to have

I clicked shotgun frame, selected tripod, and the top mount was gone. This gives me a very cool idea for my next session
My players never quite notice the ceiling vent openings.

Hey, I wasn't blaming you. Just saying, a good time was had by all.
For the stuff you're actually responsible for, this is good work. Just a shame the rules you're working with are such a mess.

Of corse, hence the
after the notation on conceal rules. All in good fun.
Got Yet Another Update, though calling it 1.0 as "Gunshop: YAU" might start confusing people. Anyone who's found a bug and wants to be on the Beta-Testers list, just email me with all information you want added (name/email/website/ect).
Any more bugs/suggestions/house rules, feel free to email or post 'em.

Pathwalker,
Just noticed one small thing. Light Machine Gun doesn't have the Belt Feed as a design option that is legal.
That's it so far.

You really have to make it a SIFF-compliant program so that it can communicate with other programs (NSRCG and Valkyrie, right now). The fact that it's written in Delphi is an excellent start, it will allow me to send you a code chunk that will require little modification to work.
The trouble is that the whole SIFF thing isn't finished/refined. And as we all know (oh well), it's bettter to release a ready COM interface rather than change an existing one.
Anyway, I'll email you when I have something more serious to say

All I can give you is a Link to the german Fanpro-Site
Man-at-Arms (1024*768)Man-at-Arms (800*600)I'm not sure if this thing is german language only ... It's most definitely "windows only".
I haven't used it so far, but from what I've heard, it pretty much includes all rules of Arsenal 2060 (german Cannon Companion *thus some minor differences*), but there could still be some bugs ...

I found an alternate download site, but it only contains an ancient (BETA) version.
The Shadowrun Emporium has it.
For some reason, the webpage to the new GunShop.zip file thinks I'm trying to leech the file off the server and demands I do not 'direct link' to it, even if I just click on the link in pathwalker.freehomepage.com.
