A couple things. First, if a character is an albino and another optional subrace, does that cost 5 or 10 building points? Also, if a character has the exceptional attribute edge, can you invest 7 attribute points in them at start, or are you still limited to 6?

Being an Albino doesn't cost any Bp's directly. so it's just the cost of the race/ meta-varient your wanting to play.

As for the Exceptional Attribute, The way i play it (which may or may not be canon) is that what ever your race max is you pay a stat up to it.

Example: Exceptional Attribut on a standard Ork. New race max for int is 6 (as opposed to 5) you can now by it to 7 thus after the minus 1 for being an ork your at your race max.

If that makes any sense.....

Technically, the Exceptional Attribute Edge grants the character an exceptional attribute (I.E. greater potential stat maximum, both Racial Max and Maximum Attribute) . It doesn't grant the ability to put more than 6 points into any specific Attribute at chargen though. That is the province of the Bonus Attribute Point Edge.

If you allow players to exchange edges and flaws for build points at 2 build points per edge/flaw point, then additional attribute point is exactly the same as just buying an attribute point with build points. It seems pretty pointless.

Except that it is the only canon way to put more than 6 (actual, as opposed to racial bonuses) points into a single Attrubute at chargen.

Per the basic rules, you have to spend at least one point on an Attribute (in other words, you can't put no points into your dwarf's Strength and end up with a Strength of 2 just from the +2 racial bonus), and cannot spend more than six points (Page 55).

The Exceptional Attribute Edge only raises the Racial Modified Limit, which both makes it cheaper, Karma-wise, to buy that next point, and raises the Attribute Maximum. It does not either give you points, or allow you to spend seven points.

However, there is the Bonus Attribute Point Edge, which does give you an actual additional point. You don't have to take both Edges to get the point, either, since the description of the Edge states that it can allow you to exceed the Racial Modified Limit.

A lot of people might house rule differently regarding the Exceptional Attribute Edge. But if you let people take the Exceptional Attribute Edge and then spend 7 points on an Attribute, then they can stack it with the Bonus Attribute Point Edge (which, remember, lets you exceed the RML) and wind up with +2 for an Attribute. So if you are going to try it that way, know what you are getting into.

Albinism is different. It raises your Willpower and the RML and Attribute Maximum, and it stacks with either or both of the two Edges above. But remember, albino people are pretty distinctive, in a game where you are playing stealthy corporate espionage specialists. And you get a mild allergy to sunlight as well as having to pick another Flaw that you don't get points for. Albinism is great for pure number-crunching exercises, but its drawbacks far outweigh its bonuses in the game, in my opinion. It doesn't cost any build points - it just uses the aforementioned disadvantages to even out the Willpower bonus.
