Mmm...mmm...what is that??? What is harassing me? Somewhere off in the magical world of Role-Playing land, a little white rat raises its sleepy head. Glancing behind it, it sees a giant smiling face poking it with a stick. Sleepily, the rat heads over to its master and nudges his face with its nose.

Come on...wake up and post...so I can go back to sleep... Groggily, the master rises from his slumber and ambles over to the computer, and yawns. Sleepily, he punches out the necessary post as the little rat curls up in a ball and goes back to sleep. The giant smiley face retreats, satisfied its poking and prodding has achieved the desired result.

Sorry about the delay guys, I'm pretty rusty at decking, so I've been working overtime to catch up on the rules. Grendel and I are handling decking via PM, just fyi. Please bear with a novice decker, and any suggestions on decking and/or character creation for a decker would be greatly appreciated. Grendel doesn't have his Matrix book now, so we're sort of doing the Matrix stuff in a combination of cinematically, SRIII, and fly by night.

Oh yeah, and the reason I asked for suggestions for character creation is because Grendel's graciously allowing me to modify the decking stuff when I figure out more clearly what the heck I'm doing.

I should note that since I haven't been really introduced to the team yet, I am only responding with a post when directly addressed. I'm not even assuming I'm linked up to the comm system yet, since I'm probably not. Just letting you all know I'm still here and ready to play. So lack of action here is me trying not to metagame.

I would like to clarify a few things.

First, I have been present and checking our game daily. I want to be clear that I have not posted out of a lack of respect for the game or my fellow players; nor have I not posted out of laziness, lack of desire, or lack of enjoyment. I thought I made it clear in the last OOC post I posted, but my post IC is an attempt to resolve this problem.

From my standpoint, Ringo doesn't feel like a part of the team. He doesn't know what he's supposed to do. He doesn't know who the boss really is. He doesn't even know if he's hired or not. He is not wired to the commlinks, he does not have a number, he has no standing instructions.

Background wise, Ringo is not a professional shadowrunner because he really wants to-he has to. He's always been a part of a close, tight knit team. He's not really used to going into a new group or team and not being told what to do. He follows instructions very well, but he always defers to the current leadership and structure. As such, unless he's told specifically to do something, he isn't going to do it.

I'm not saying you have to babysit him, not at all. I am saying that since at this point he hasn't even been HIRED by the team yet, hasn't even SPOKEN to anyone really, he's not going to suddenly just act like a well-oiled part of the group. I also don't want to metagame by pretending he heard instructions that weren't even spoken to him, and he'd have no way of knowing. Did that make sense?

I want to be clear I am not remotely pointing fingers or accusing anyone. Especially you Blitz. I've read the threads and I recognize completely that your IC non-friendliness is entirely in character for Blitz the character, but not you, Blitz the person. I love playing with you in both games we're in together, so I want to be perfectly clear that this is me explaining my POV as a player and as Ringo. So definitely don't want any misinterpretations along these lines. You're awesome, love playing with ya!

That said, only Parvati has said anything to him at all this whole time. If she doesn't say anything, Ringo won't do anything, because he assumes he's supposed to listen to her. So if someone, anyone, would give him some sense of direction as far as instructions, whether or not he's even hired, what is expected from him, essentially trying to incorporate him into the team, he (and I) will behave much more proactively.

Again, this is not a complaint, I'm not the least bit angry, upset, frustrated, irritated, <insert negative emotion of your choice here>. I just wanted to clarify why I haven't been very proactive, and how Ringo is currently seeing the situation. Hopefully then we'll be able to get going much more smoothly. If anyone has any problems with what I've said here, please contact me so we can iron things out between us. I want the game to be a great experience for us all, and I thought this might help facilitate that. Let me know what you all are thinking.

Ha it's ok Blitz. I can't help but laugh since it was you who posted the orders for us after we arrived at said area. It's all good. Now we can get on with taking on a major megacorporation on multiple fronts as if there were no other less suicidal jobs we could take.

Hah you think that's bad, you should have seen the original thread. We nearly had to scrap the game before the initial meet was done. Blitz took offence to the existence of half the team, someone tried to mind control Blitz and kept telling the GM what was happening, then there was the random threat of mass violence breaking out amongst the rest of the group.

To say it was a comedy of errors would have been an understatement.

Ok, but wait....that guy was NUTZOID! And it wasn't at half the team, just that Mandrin wacko!

Blitz, just informing you, from a player standpoint, I really think one of the neatest aspects of this storyline is Blitz's battle against Novatech. Personally, I'd really like to be involved with that storyline and help you out, just cause I think it'd be a blast.

From a character standpoint, that's exactly the kind of thing Ringo would want to do. He's a 'good guy' in the shadows, and would take on those kinda odds just cause it's the right thing to do (well maybe) but he definitely likes working and feeling like part of a tight knit team. Since his last team got killed, he's been looking for a new team, and he'd love to be part of this one, and would be more than willing to go the distance against Novatech for his teammates, and hopefully later, friends.

Why am I telling you this? I'm just informing you of my perspective of this campaign/run so if you're willing, we can work towards Ringo's integration as part of the team. Of course this may not be in Blitz's (the character's) personality, so if it's not, that's cool. But Ringo would be willing to help, and probably will try to get to know the team on a more personal level, and try to form the type of relationship that would lead to working together on a more permanent basis. If you'd be willing to work and role-play towards that, that would be awesome, but if not, I understand as well. Let me know what you're thinking about this possibility, if you don't mind.

Oh and by the way, it's great to have you back and posting regularly again. Glad the job's starting to settle down for you! (At least, that's the way it seems)

LOL...Yes, the new schedule is tough, but Im starting to settle in.

Winter...sounds excellent, but let me warn you....it'll be a tough sell. Blitz is a troubled tortured girl who's have a really hard life. Her career in the shadows has been as dark as the name implies and she's been let down by those she trusted so hard that she puts up a really tough front to keep people distanced from her.

For people like Ivan, Cosmo and Clay (not sure how Ayuda feels....) they all seem to respect and maybe even admire her for her strengths, but there is still a distance there. Simply put, she's broke and probably unfixable. A woman consumed by her need for revenge.

ah revenge.... i love that word.... that and i hate corps.... <evil grin> but ivan i dont know what you did to get the great damaskas on you ..... my my this is going to be a interesting run....

Darn it. You mean she's not kind, gentle, caring, compassionate, and socially well adjusted like nearly all the other runners out there who do this horribly dark and depressing job as a means to make the world a better, happier place? Blast.

That's cool Blitz. It'll just be something interesting to do, we can watch and see how it plays out. Just something else for the story for our playing entertainment. Besides, what's life without a challenge?

And Synafay, glad to know it. Go new people! Well now that the ball is starting to roll once again, it's good to be on board. Just some random thoughts dropped at 4:45 in the morning.
