Obviously Labrador's part of Quebec, but I'm not sure about Newfoundland. Is it part of the UCAS or Quebec?

On the same note, why would Labrador (And Newfoundland) throw in its lot with the Quebecois when most of its people speak English?

The map in Shadows of North America shows Newfoundland as part of the UCAS. The Neo-Anarchist Guide to North America says Labrador joined Québec in 2017, while Newfoundland merged with Maine in 2019, more than a decade before the union of Canada and US.

Labrador joined Québec in december 2017. That was only a few weeks before Washington and Ottawa signed the Denver Treaty. Maybe they feared Ottawa would give them away to the Trans-Polar Aleut. Even after the treaty, the others states could fear Ottawa would not send any help should the tribes around start or continue fighting there.

Yeah Labrador is part of Quebec and Newfoundland is part of the UCAS, but I agree with you on questioning it. While Quebec would give everything to gain a non-frozen port in the winter plus exclusive rights to all the best hydro sources in Canada, Labradorians have always fought tooth and nail to not be a part of Quebec.

in otherwords more 1st ed weirdness that needs to be fixed.

IIRC Quebec just took Labrador during all the chaos of the era.

With a total population of only around 25,000 (35% native) they could not really stop such an annexation.

Having said that, I am sure they are as happy being part of Quebec—as 1980s Quebec was happy being part of Canada.

hmm, with the Labradorans voting 'non' ? Gee suddenly I'm seeing a posible source of all new runs with boats

Wasn't Quebec really anti-Anglophone for a while? Seems like you could make an interesting campaign or at least a few runs out of Anglophone dissident movements in Labrador or some such thing.

Any area not in the St Laurence Valley would be a good area to run an Anglophone dissident movement. The top 2/3 or Quebec are filled with people that would like to see the the Quebec government fail (and they are known to shoot hydro lines to make it happen). With the creation of the NANs these predominantly First Nation groups would be extra hungry to separate from Quebec. Their main problems though are, 80% of Quebec's population and 99% of the infastructure is in the St Laurence Valley. The Quebec government was probably able to shut these FNs up when talking to the newly formed NANs, and offered much needed traid deals with the new nations (anything to stick it to the Anglos (Enemy of my Enemy)).

I could see as a run idea, the formation of a resistance group from northern Quebec and Labrador (same tribes in both areas) with the intent of creating a new NAN nation (probably called Labrador).
