Full Version: mutant/toxic pets

RW hasn't been out for too long, but I was wondering if there were any GMs out there that have allowed people to buy mutant or toxic pets? Hopefully I didn't interpret it wrong, but it seems to me that mutants and toxics are primarily a GM tool to keep things interesting. But you can make such ridiculously awesome pets if you can control mutations/toxic powers... as a player it'd be too happy.

Also I was legitimately confused about pets have qualities... is that only possible with mutants/toxics? And even if that was true, you couldn't get certain qualities only metagenetic or a short list of pos/neg ones.

I convinced my GM to let me have one more for fluff then crunch. It's a mutant squid that's basically a mini cthulu. I named it Cuddles the Facehugger. He feeds off of gray matter so sometimes I'll bring back the heads of enemies and even the occasional mage for a special treat.

Cuddles the Facehugger, Brilliant! I guess I need to get RW so I can make my own pets. It is like build-a-bear I guess. Why has the universe denied me the knowledge of this book until now?!

Correction, its like a NIGHTMARISH build-a-bear. Our gm has a system where a roll of the dice determines the mutation in the creature cuz of course its random but also based on environment. Last time Cuddles mutated again he gained acidic spit, the time before that he sprouted more tentacles so now he doesnt even use his chubby little stub legs. He just walks around on his tentacles or wraps himself on Akachi's back like a disturbing yet somewhat cute backpack.

The universe probably denied because they were afraid of what you would make.
