Even before she was born, her parents expected much of their daughter, and so gave her the pushes she would need to succeed, having her genes modified, and giving her cerebral boosters even as a child. Her parents got their wish, there was nothing she couldn't accomplish... but there also seemed to be nothing that she wanted to accomplish.
Everything came so easy to her that she had little drive to ever work at reaching real heights in a given area. Instead her intellectual curiosity would be piqued by some new topic, a new subject. She constantly shifted her goals and desires, never being able to settle on anything.
She would have entered college at an exceptionally early age, but an accident hospitalized her, and she lost her hand. She received a synthetic hand, one which had to be replaced several times over the next few years in order to accommodate for her growth.
This constant changing of her hand only made college harder when she entered it at the age of 16, though not hard in the way that most people found college hard. All classes were too easy for her, and she changed majors every semester. Due to her varied classes, it actually ended up taking longer than most for her to eventually graduate with an engineering degree and a minor in computer science, and little mind as to what she really wanted to do with her life.
As a final gift.. one more boost to her success from her parents, who were still convinced she would do amazing things, she was given nanites to boost her intellect. This perhaps was the final nail in the coffin of her ever getting any kind of normal job.
Like her education before, her careers were constantly shifting, moving from mechanic to engineer to programmer to security consultant. None of the jobs proved to be a challenge, none of them gave her any satisfaction, none tested her skills or knowledge or intellect.
Her final job as a security consultant left her with access to a number of contacts that had all sorts of 'security' gear for sale, from lockpicks to guns to fully armed drones, and not all of them minded avoiding taxes on a sale, and saving her the trouble of registering the drone. It wasn't much, just a hobby of sorts, dismantling them, rebuilding them, reprogramming them. This started to truly catch her interest, using the drones to outsmart people she hadn't even met yet. She had to think of all the things that could happen, and be prepared for each and every one.
But of course simply having a drone outsmart someone in a game of chess wasn't all that special, but looking at the security systems she worked with, she couldn't help but think how interesting it could be to try and beat the systems from the other side, instead of helping keep them secure.
She started small, sending drones to run around buildings that she was monitoring, seeing if she could beat the security with her programs, the risk was low as she could always erase the evidence easily enough, and wasn't actually doing anything illegal. Slowly the thrill grew as she began having her drones take trophies of their accomplishments, small things, pens and desk placards. It wasn't until one of her drones returned with a datachip filled with highly valuable plans that she realized that she could make a living from this game. She returned the chip and quit her job shortly after, only to steal the chip again, her first score.
She has been working her way up, finding ever more challenges for herself and her drones, and her interests turned to others that did similar things as a living... those 'Shadowrunners' that the Trids made into such impressive figures. Well, shes been to the range a few times, she already has a veritable army of drones... and now she is ready to not just meet one of these runners, but become one herself... her parents would be proud... or not.

5/5 Trevor: Quick bound buddy who owns his own rather impressive drone shop. He knows has the
permits and connections to get even those drones that aren't really supposed to be on the market to
civies... and doesn't always bother adding tax or registering the new owner for a new old friend.
Main shop is in Miami, but new ones are opening up all the time.
3/3 Gwen: Gwen deals with supplying corps with all the things they need to make their places harder
to break into. She can generally wrangle out a bit of overordered gear for a friend, and might even
be able to help out with an idea of what some of the local corps may have in reguard for their
defences.
3/4 Reico: Reico is a friend from college, one of the many guys in the computer science program
when she found her wandering way in there. The two became quick friends, with Jane occasionally
showing up Reico in computers, despite him being three years older than her and having a year's more
experince in the department. Still, he was no slouch and has become quite the passable 'Computer
Consoltant"
