Wow #3 is cool too, but why the hell do you need typing sounds, seems like a waist.

Typing sounds are for feedback. Otherwise you wouldn't feel the key move or hear anything so you would have no idea if you actually hit. May not be a problem if your a slow typer though.

Couldn't you tell by watching the screen, Hmm I can see how you probibly would have more typos that way.

Most keyboard users are used to the sound of the keys being pressed, and it just might not feel right without it. As long as you can turn the sound off it's a nice feature.

I've heard its actually a terrible keyboard to use, as you're mashing your fingers into a desk or table.

yea, no resistance from the keys would be painful after a while.

Effective use would require re-learning how to type, or learning to keep your hands off the table itself, so that you're air-typing. I figure with it's motion recognition, that would work just as well, and be easier on your hands as you'd have no resistance to worry about what-so-ever.

You can actually score those wrist PC keyboards off Ebay for 40-50 bucks.

As opposed to paying the manufacturer 400-500 bucks.

Based on my experience using my FrogPad on a jury-rigged wrist mount, it's not actually very useful; the wrist mount gives a backing, simplifying typing on the go, but it occupies both of your arms without actually letting you use both hands (except for a certain class of tasks that lets you hold the keyboarded arm still in a convenient position).

I put my wearable computing project on hiatus around then in despair over prices of monocular head-mounted displays, but I seem to remember trying for a hip- or thigh-mount.

Edit: gah! It's gotten worse! One of the better HMDs I'd looked at at just under $3,000 has since been EoLed and the suggested replacement is over $8,000!
