He was friends with Dunkie. But considered the thought that someday he'd have to kill him...

You have an odd definition of friendship.

Quite Possibly, Yes. No worries though. smile.gif

Harlequin was friends with Dunkelzahn though. He regretted the thought he might have to kill him one day. He definitly did not regret to hurt Erhan in any way possible - the Immortals may have a gentlemens' agreement to not kill each other, but they almost universally dislike to hate each other. There's one love/hate (Aina and Harlequin), some mutual respect, lots of distrust and even more blatant animosity (Oakforest/Alachia, everyone/alachia, Alachia/everyone, Erhan/Harlequin, everyone/Urdli ...) . They're not Magical Best Friends or some such nonsense. Also, if there is a point to the encounter with Harlequin I don't see it.

Which speaks, to me at least, of a Love/Hate relationship. *shrug*
They go at each other from time to time, but neither is invested enough in the rivalry to actually try to put a stop to it. Afterall, when you only have a very few Peers, why get rid of them? They are the only ones who are up to the challenge, after all.

A love/hate relationship is quite different than friendship.

Most times, Yes. smile.gif

It indeed is different, but bullshit is bullshit, which is what I call on this adventure. It just seems to go nowhere, a loosely connected series of encounters with immortals who were thrown in for no particular reason. What a waste of money.

But, can it be made to work? Not having seen any of them, in whole or in part, can the details of the missions be reworkd to somthing that is useable? In my past experience, this was almost always a yes. If nothing else, the framework should be useable. Any Opinions?

This is why I tend to dislike modules that have PCs interact with the NPCs who make up the fabric of the meta-lore.

PCs work indirectly for Loffy but don't know it until at the end when they get a message saying, 'nice work, I'll be keeping my eye on you'. That's ok, and also pants-wetting scary. The team being his personal errand boys? Meh. IMO, SR really breaks down at those levels, but I've never liked world-changing campaigns, in any tabletop RPG, no matter the system.

I'd just like to see one-shot modules over long-winded campaigns around immortals I guess, but it's certainly a personal preference thing.

Any piece of tripe can eventually be reworked into something useable. Even if this was the worst piece of crap imaginable, there's usually a good idea or two floating in there. Given the writing staff, I don't think it'll be that bad, but I also don't think I'll be running it without heavy modifications. To be perfectly fair, ask me again after Sunday, when I run it: it might play better than it reads.

One modification I do plan on making: during an off week, the PC's called on Jane for a favor. Rather than have them hired traditionally, I think I'll have her call in the favor. I think it'll make them a bit more cooperative *and* conscious of the fact that their reps are on the line.

nyahnyah.gif Even my 8 year old daughter cringes a bit at that show. For some reason, 30 year olds love it but third graders tend to be indifferent. Senior citizens like me just share our heads. smile.gif

I'd say it can be used to hang up your own adventure on, but it's a bare bones construction that is usable, at best. And I'm unhappy to pay $8 for something so crappy I have to rebuild it from the ground up. If it was a freebie from a website, fine (though most freebie fansite campaigns are better written), but as a paid product, it completly fails to deliver.
