QUOTE (SR4a, p. 313)
Note that cyberware accessories must be of the same grade as the implant they are added to.

Naturally, cyberware "accessories" are only mentioned on that page. Does this mean that if I buy, say, Alpha Cybereyes, I must pay 1500¥ for Flare Comp?
Justin
Wow, I'm not sure. I hadn't thought of that yet. I'm kind of curious as well. Anyone know for sure?
McCummhail
In Alphaware cybereyes, everything loaded into them must be Alhpa grade.
It makes capacity a little more expensive to fill.
Likewise Deltaware cyberlimbs can only install delta grade devices.
I can give you a page ref if you so desire.

The good McCummhall is correct.

Customizations, Enhancements, Cyberguns, and the like, right?

Please do. I found a page reference in SR3, but they changed how enhancements work for SR4, so I was unsure.

Main book pg. 303, at the bottom right it says "Note that cyberware accessories must be of the same
grade as the implant they are added to."

The page you quoted before SR4A, p.313 is the direct quote, but it isn't very specific as to what accessories are.

p. 310 defines Capacity in the sidebar
[ Spoiler ]

Cyberlimb accessories (SR4A, p344) specifically state they can only be installed in cyberlimbs.

The only other relevant quotation I can give is from the FAQ:
[ Spoiler ]

this only reinforces the statement without clarifying.

The seem to be few restrictions on what can be installed save that it must take up capacity and be the same grade.

The easy way to remember it is: If it takes up capacity, it has to be the same grade as whatever it takes up capacity from.
