I figure since we have the "Things one cannot do in Shadowrun" thread, that a MOtivational Poster thread would be a good compliment.

Where else to use three pounds of six siders? How about Champions? "How much Killing Damage?!?"

Here's a collection from RPGnet for ya http://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/Category:Mot...ters:_Shadowrun

Hey! I know who the artist is!

Here's a nicer pic of Sgt Axel.

But yeah, he's totally a dragon with a vest and a badge.

I love how the van is just completely swiss cheesed and still managing to support the roof.

One I did on RPGnet as a "response poster" (Adding a caption to a previous poster)

Also, if you want to make your own, here's a link to the Motivator: http://bighugelabs.com/motivator.php

Their sign-in and hosting and such is newish, and not something I'm familiar with. If you don't have regular web or image hosting available already, I suggest using photobucket.

I like that last one. Very accurate on how PCs (in any RPG) tend to carry around an armory's worth of weapons and enough gear to kit out a store.

Very nice Bull, and I agree.

Somehow reminds me of Velociraptor Safari--your a raptor driving a jeep* running over more raptors.

*Its hard to tell, but there's totally a raptor in the driver's seat. Youtube it.

And that's it from me!
First half or so is pretty much shadowrun themed, second half or last third is applicable a bit more universally i think.
Delarn
LOL !

Yes, i had a bit too much time . .
And i think some of those later ones are not mine . .

Hehe, Ground Zero Ocean. I think that happens in Traveler when the players get their hands on a MPFG (Man Portable Fusion Gun: the only* gun that makes you track damage through a target and missed shots--while providing everything within 100 meters with a lethal dose of radiation every shot).

*Both the MPFG and MPPG (MP Plasma Gun) do. 1 bullet (both fire in 3 bullet bursts) has a 50% chance of outright killing the Most Durable Man Ever wearing the Most Durable Armor Ever.
Sixgun_Sage
Nothing to contribute except to say this thread would be a great way of introducing a player to shadowrun...
Delarn
Yup ! I think I'll put that in my priority list when I want to explain Shadowrun.

Gotta add one correction here. AFAIK, in Traveller, (2 "l"s btw, british spelling), it's PGMP and FGMP (for Plasma and Fusion Gun, Man Portable).

Sorry. Too iconic an item for me to let it pass. smile.gif

Jebus, who did that awful copy of Battle Pope?

It looks like whoever drew it fell into the classic amateur artist trap of trying to copy someone else's style, without actually understanding the anatomy and underpinnings behind that style.

Yes, it is an actual comic book.

That's a pic from one of the books isn't it?

Nope. Japanese artist, Hyung Tae-Kim. Famous for guys that look like girls and girls that look like they have beach balls strapped to their chests.
hobgoblin
sounds like just about every japanese artist to me, and the only diff vs other artists are the guys, as all artists seems so make the females overly equiped...

I've actually been extraordinarily pleased at the portrayal of women in the art of Shadowrun. Sex objects are the exception, not the rule.
Stahlseele
Which is, technically, wrong for the world of shadowrun . .
hobgoblin
err, where did the entry i made about trolls in school girl uniforms go?!

huh, it ended up in a different thread (the one about matrix maps to be exact)?

is the dumpshock database curse doing a comeback?!

Most of the pictures in SR books are going to be of 'runners and therefore not the shrinking flowers you might expect from an exploitative dystopian future.

and when they go for in your face sexy, its probably with some level of irony, or maybe cognitive dissonance (like the troll in a school girl outfit, carrying a copy of the kama sutra)...

(there we go, back in its rightful place, i hope)
ravensmuse
I can think of a few that were sexy, *shrug*. For instance, I think that "elf girl with daddy issues" is adorable, and I saved it the last time I saw it linked to on here.

are there any other kind of elves? silly.gif

Difference between sexy and sex objects. All of the female characters portrayed (I think) are good looking, as are most of the male ones, but none of them are set up as purely sexual figures (Except maybe that one elf? girl in the bioware section of augmentation with the weird skin. I'd hate to look like that, personally, but she seemed to be along those lines. I'm sure there are a few others I'm not thinking of off the top of my head. Maybe I should go hunk and chick hunting wink.gif ).

And the gas vents coming out of her head. (AU63, WTF???)

They're women, so they have breasts. But it's not the be-all and end-all of their portrait, and I appreciate that.

Not all for SR but look for the Orc Chicks poster, & Distraction Bonus poster wink.gif

I'd have to go digging through my books to pick out specific pictures, honestly.

Karoline: there's another version of that motivational poster in your sig that just says, "Shadowrun: Fuck Yeah." I like that one better, personally smile.gif

Oh damn, EEK sure pulled together a nice collection there. I'm only a third of the way down the page.

BTW, if anyone has not read the Age of Fire series by EE Knight, you should.
